Nook Book Wrap-Up #8

Nook Book Wrap Up is my monthly version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Kim’s Sunday Post is a chance to share news about your blog, books and life. It is also a perfect opportunity to meet bloggers and add more books to your collection.

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good week. August flew by so fast and I can’t remember what we did.  Obviously, nothing exciting happened (since I can’t remember it), just the usual work, family and school. The weather has been alternating between hot and cool days, which is nice to get a relief from the heat.

Here is news from last month:

  • Our internet issues have been resolved (for now – knock on wood). Xfinity gave us a new router which is supposed to be better for our needs. So far it’s working good and I will be able to setup the blog posts I’ve been saving up.
  • August was an ok reading month for me. Work has been hectic so at night I was too tired to read. But listening to audiobooks during my commute to work helps to tackle my TBR, otherwise I would never get to read. This gif is how I look when I try to read at night. But usually my Nook falls on my face lol.

Last month’s posts:

Currently reading or listening to:

  • Twist by Dannika Dark (Audiobook)

Reviews coming soon:

  • Blackout by Dannika Dark (audiobook)
  • Midnight Jewel by Richelle Mead (Audiobook)

Reading challenges update:

  • 2018 New Release Challenge – 10 of 20 books
  • 2018 Audiobook Challenge – 25 of 30 audiobooks (5 books ahead of schedule)
  • Goodreads Challenge – 38 of 50 books (5 books ahead of schedule)
  • COYER Summer Challenge – 14 of 10 books

New books on my shelf

I got lucky again! I rarely go on Netgalley so I was so excited to get approved for the following book:

  • Consumed by J.R. Ward

Thank you to Tantor Audio for the following audiobooks:

  • Kale to the Queen by Nell Hampton
  • Blackout by Dannika Dark
  • A Wolf Apart by Maria Vale
  • Blood Match by KA Linde
  • Bring Me Their Hearts by Sara Wolf

Books I read but will not review:

  • Brighter Than the Sun by Darynda Jones – 4 Stars

Movies and TV

We watched Crazy Rich Asians and To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, and I loved both movies.  Now I need to read both series and I hope they make movies of the next books.

What was your favorite part of August?  I hope you have a great week!

  1. August did fly by! So true. I still think it’s weird we’re in September!

Blackout by Dannika Dark looks awesome- I’ve been thinking of trying her books after anothr blogger recommended her for UF. And I liked Ten.

I loved To All The Boys!

I hope you get to read Dannika Dark. I started with the Crossbreed series and now I’m starting her first series Mageri. All her books are in the same universe but it’s easy to follow. Thanks Greg for stopping by!

To All the Boys reminded me of Sixteen Candles and I loved seeing it referenced. Now I need to read the books to find out what happens next. Thanks Grace!

Thanks for the warning for Blood Match. It’s good that I’m starting this series after the books have been released, I hate waiting after a cliffhanger lol. Thanks Nicci and I hope you are having a great September!
