No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn't fooling around. Doubting him isn't something I'll do again, and now that we've made it through the rough patches, well... There's a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can't protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I'm no longer the same Katy. I'm different... And I'm not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I'm capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won't turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we're stronger...and they know it.

One word to describe this book: AMAZING!

It had been a while since I read Onyx but as soon as I started reading Opal it felt like home. I also kicked myself for waiting so long to continue reading this series. There is action, suspense, romance, and Daemon! Daemon is the ultimate BBF! He is sexy, arrogant, bossy, thoughtful and loving. He is so intense and perfect! So much happens in this book and we are left with a shocking cliffhanger, thankfully I don’t need to wait for the next book. I’m off to read Origin!!

Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.

After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.

All Katy can do is survive.

Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?

Together, they can face anything.

But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?

And will they even be together?

One word to describe this book: DAEMON!

Origin picks up at the heartbreaking cliffhanger ending in Opal and fans are treated to Daemon’s POV. I loved that JLA made this change and if you have a chance you must listen to the audiobook. The narrators alternate between Justine Eyre (Katy) and Rob Shapiro (Daemon) and it was perfect.  All the sexiness and intensity of Daemon is brought to life. In this book Daemon is on a mission to save Katy and will do anything to get her back. He still has the cocky attitude that we love but he expresses his true feelings for Katy (finally!). OMG I was swooning and did not want this book to end.  Just as in the previous books there is action, suspense and romance, that will keep you entertained. And this book ends in another shocking cliffhanger, thankfully again I am moving on to the next book (it’s the perks of waiting to read this series).  This series is amazing and a must read for all science fiction fans!!

Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.

She can't believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all.

Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.

They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.

War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.

One word to describe this book: EPIC!

Opposition is the final book in the Lux series and this is how a series finale should be written. I could not put this book down and I also did not want this to end.  Katy and Daemon are up against great odds but their love for each other makes them unstoppable. I don’t want to spoil the story but I went through so many emotions while reading this book: frustration, fear, sorrow and excitement. Earth is in danger and Jennifer L. Armentrout delivered an exciting story filled with action and romance. Now I’m ready for her new Lux series called Origin, which the first book The Darkest Star releases in October.  Narrators Justine Eyre (Katy) and Rob Shapiro (Daemon) have another perfect performance bring my favorite characters to live with raw emotion.  Book lovers and bloggers will love Katy, who is also a book blogger and we can identify with her passion for reading. This is an excellent series and a must read for fans of YA science fiction.

Justine does an incredible performance. I liked her male voices more than Rob Shapiro’s lol. This is one of the series I kept putting off so it’s great to finally finish it. Just like you I have a long list of series I need to start (someday lol). Thanks Melanie for stopping by!
