Nook Book Wrap Up is my monthly version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Kim’s Sunday Post is a chance to share news about your blog, books and life. It is also a perfect opportunity to meet bloggers and add more books to your collection.

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good week.  May flew by so fast.  The weather changed from hot to cold, causing most of us to get sick. But it looks like it is going to be as usual hot summer. I’m looking forward to the BBQ’s and wearing sandals. My daughters are now on summer vacation, which finally means more relaxing time for all us.

May was a busy month:

  • I had decided to skip the RT Convention in Reno and of course with my bad luck it turned out to be their last convention. Darn it lol. Oh well, there is still a long list of book conventions on my bucket list which I hope to attend someday. Which book convention would you love to attend?
  • I was one of the millions of people that watched the royal wedding of Harry and Meagan. As a kid we watched the wedding of Charles and Diana, so it was exciting to see their son get married. The day looked beautiful and I’m still looking at pictures on social media.
  • The GDPR was (and still is) confusing but thanks to Ashley @ Nose Graze and helpful tips in the COYER Facebook group I made the necessary changes. I hope I did everything right lol.
  • I went to Stephanie Garber’s book signing for Legendary (Caraval #2) in Barnes & Noble Roseville. It was a fun night with games and treats, I’ve never been to an event this elaborate. I got to talk to a lot of fans, while we were in line to meet her, and everyone was so nice. I am currently listening to the audiobook and it is good so far. I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

  • I had another great reading month. This time I mixed ARCs and my TBR list and enjoyed all the books. Last month I was in a paranormal romance mood and now I’m in a historical romance mood. Thanks to falling in love with Tessa Dare’s The Duchess Deal I’ve moved on to her Say Yes to the Marquess. Do you have any HR suggestions?

This month’s posts:

Currently reading or listening to:

  • Legendary by Stephanie Garber (Audiobook) – Young Adult Fantasy

  • Goodreads Challenge – 16 of 50 books (3 books ahead of schedule)

  • Divorced, Desperate and Dangerous by Christie Craig
  • Divorced, Desperate and Dead by Christie Craig
  • Divorced, Desperate and Dating by Christie Craig

Movies and TV

We saw 2 movies in May:

  • Avengers: Infinity Wars – I can’t believe how this movie ended!!! Now we must wait until next year for the follow-up movie!
  • Deadpool 2 – I love Ryan Reynolds! This was funny but bloody.

Movies I’m looking forward to in June:

Ocean’s 8, Incredibles 2 and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. I’m taking advantage of my daughter’s free movie tickets at the movie theater she works at lol.

What was your favorite part of May?  I hope you have a great week!

  1. I am reading Illuminae right now (first time), and I love PR and HR’s as well, how about Romancing Mr. Bridgerton by Julia Quinn? I am reading that as soon as I finish one of the ARC’s I am currently reading!! I haven’t read Tessa Dare yet-apparently she is pretty popular!!

I love Julia Quinn but I can’t remember where I stopped in the Bridgerton series. I’ll just have to start the series again lol. Thanks Joann and I hope you have a great week!

  2. I am enjoying my NG ARCs…and a few author review books, like Joanne DeMaio’s Beach Bliss…and now Castaway Cottage.

I’ve been watching The Good Fight, streaming Season II on CBS-All Access…and thought that today was the season finale, so I was all hyped up. And then discovered that last week’s was the finale. Sigh. I did see last week’s, but thinking I had another delicious episode…disappointing!

I do hate waiting, but there will be a Season III…probably next year. Boo.

Your book signing sounds wonderful. Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    • Kathy

I hate waiting for new seasons to start too. I’ve been watching Netflix and it’s great how they release the entire season for their shows. It’s easier to pace myself instead of missing episodes on network TV lol. Thanks Laurel-Rain and I hope you have a great week!

  3. I am disappointed about RT closing up shop but the one I really want to go to is Malice Domestic which is mystery based and I would love to go to BEA one day. I watched the Royal Wedding too and enjoyed it. I loved Meghan’s dress. I’m not a big lace fan so the simplicity of it really called to me. The book signing looks amazing! Have a great week and enjoy the lazier summer.

I would also love to go to BEA one day. A mystery based convention sounds like a lot of fun. There is a paranormal signing in New Orleans I would love to attend one day. Thanks Katherine and I hope you have a great week and summer!

  4. I believe that authors or someone from RT is going to do another convention. It might be in New York, I for some reason can not remember lol. I know Lexxie mentioned it and I was like we all need to go to that one.

I loved the Royal Wedding, it was just so nice. I even wore a tiny hat while I watched it and had jet lag after it was over because I thought it was later than it was. I also might be insane! 😉

You have a great may! I hope your june is just as awesome!
Have a great week, Kathy! Happy Reading!

I remember Lexxie mentioning the smaller version of RT. I hope I get to go to at least one of their conventions. That is funny about the Royal Wedding. If I wanted to watch it live I think it was at 3 am here. It was great watching the replays lol. Thanks Michelle and I can’t wait for COYER!! I hope you have a great week!

  5. Yay for BBQ’s! It’s nice that summer is finally here, and I’m looking forward to all the summer stuff (although we had some 90’s this past week, and I wasn’t quite ready for THAT yet lol). The Garber event looks awesome! I’ve been to a few signings but yeah nothing quite that elaborate! How fun.

I’m looking forward to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom too, I hope it’s good!!

Hope you enjoy Illuminae! And have a super week!!

    • Kathy

I keep putting off Illuminae so I hope I read it soon lol. Now that all the books are out at least I won’t have to wait for the next one. Thanks Greg and I hope you have a great week!

      • I think even though they’re big books they read fairly fast because of the format? Also, for what it’s worth, Gemina was my favorite of the three, so if you like Illuminae I hope you enjoy Gemina because I really did. 🙂

        • Kathy

I didn’t get a chance to read this in June (I think I better stop writing a list of what I might read, it seems to jinx me lol). But I’ll get to it soon lol. Thanks Greg!

    • Kathy

I almost didn’t go because it was during the week lol. Thanks Mary and I hope you have a great week!

    • Kathy

There are so many conventions I wish I can go, but they are just too far. Maybe one of these days I’ll be able to go. Thanks Melanie and I hope you have a great week!

  6. You’re doing all the challenges I am. New Release, Audiobook, COYER. I’ll look forward to seeing you in the COYER stuff. Roseville is that in the Twin Cities? I lived in Edina, Mpls, Fridley, Mpls and then Excelsior for many years.

I went to RT, part of it last year in Atlanta since it is near NC where I live now. It was fun but it is such a huge thing. I think it’s easier to go to smaller events, sometimes the authors have more time. But really they mostly don’t have a lot of time and I don’t do many physical books anymore so I don’t know what to have them sign. The fun thing is meeting the other readers / bloggers. It’s great you are doing COYER. We are going to have a lot of fun!! I selected challenges that overlapped each other, I thought it would be easier lol. Roseville is close to Sacramento, California. It is rare that we get author’s up here, so I was excited to see her here. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!

    • Kathy

The GDPR is crazy and I hope that is the last of any mandatory changes we need to make lol. Thanks Kim and I hope you have a great week!

  7. I am kind of sad I never got to attend RT, but like you, I have a bunch of cons on my list. I had to move my daughter to Chicago this past weekend, and missed BookCon for the first time. It was painful looking at Twitter, but there is always next year.

It is hard to see the convention posts on social media. I try not to look but I can’t help from wondering what I am missing lol. Thanks Sam!

Thank you! Sorry for the late reply but I’ve been having internet issues (again). So June has been frustrating for blogging. I hope you had a great month!
