Posted February 13, 2018 by Kathy in Discussion, Top 10 Tuesday / 14 Comments

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature formerly hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and has a new home at That Artsy Reader Girl (check out their blog for more information). Each week a new Top Ten list will be featured. Everyone is welcome to join! A list of 10 is just a suggestion, but you can do a list of 3 or 5 or 20. Your post, your choice! Link back to That Artsy Reader Girl to visit other bloggers’ lists.  This is a fun way to get to know fellow bloggers, so I hope you’ll join us!

This week’s topic is a Love Freebie (bloggers choice).  I love ALL romance! I read Young Adult, New Adult and Adult books. I’ll read contemporary, historical, fantasy and science fiction. If the story is “romance”, I’ll read it! Today I’m sharing some of my favorite romance authors.

Kresley Cole writes paranormal romance (adult/YA) and adult contemporary erotica. Not many people know that she had also written an adult historical romance (I mentioned this series when I met her at a book signing and she was surprised I had read it). I love her books because of the passion, excitement of the story and the humor (I love Nix!). Kresley Cole is an automatic buy for me.

My list of favorite paranormal authors includes Karen Marie Moning, Donna Grant, Elisabeth Naughton and Darynda Jones.

Tessa Dare is one of my favorite historical romance authors. I love the romance but also how she develops strong female characters, despite the male dominated era.  She is the first name that comes to mind for historical romances.

My list of favorite historical romance authors includes Julia Quinn and Eloisa James.

Susan Mallery is one of my favorite adult contemporary romance authors. I love that her books are set in a small-town so the focus is on characters who are everyday people that we can relate to. I make a stronger connection with the characters and the romance is the right mix of sexy and sweet.

My list of favorite small-town adult contemporary romance authors includes Marie Force, Katy Regnery, Sherryl Woods and Lauren Dane.

  1. I’m not much of a romance reader but I do think I have a few Karen Moning books on my TBR from way back… seems like I heard good things about her YA series.

I hope you read KMM’s books. They have romance but there is also a lot of suspense and action. That’s why I love the series. Thanks Greg for stopping by!

Back in the day I couldn’t wait for the latest Immortals book, so I read her historical books. I love that she takes a chance by writing different genres. Thanks Melanie for stopping by!

I’m pretty sure the covers are what caught my eye and I took a chance on these authors lol. Thank you for stopping by!

  2. I finally read a Tessa Dare book last year and I really liked it. I really need to read more from her. And Susan Mallery is an author I need to try again. I kind of burned out on her Fool’s Gold series but I read her more women’s fiction type book, Sisters Like Us a few weeks ago and really liked it!

I became a fan of Tessa Dare with her Spindle Cove series and fell in love with her writing. I know what you mean about Fool’s Gold, I haven’t finished it but some of the characters appear in Mallery’s new series Happily, Inc. So now I want to read some of the books. Thanks Katherine for stopping by!

  3. One of my favorite romance authors is Lisa Kleypas. I first read her when I was in high school and I have enjoyed almost all her books! Tessa Dare is also a good author.

My other favorites are: Sabrina Jeffries, Sarah MacLean, Sophie Jordan, Jennifer L. Armentrout, Elle Kennedy, Tessa Bailey… 🙂

I’ve been a huge fan of hers for years. She’s one of the first books I purchased when I got my first Nook. There are so many authors I love and wish I can just auto buy them, but it depends on my budget lol. Thank you for stopping by!
