Top 10 Tuesday – Books I Didn’t Read Last Year & Hope To Read This Year

Posted January 9, 2018 by Kathy in Discussion, Top 10 Tuesday / 20 Comments

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week a new Top Ten list will be featured. Everyone is welcome to join! A list of 10 is just a suggestion, but you can do a list of 3 or 5 or 20. Your post, your choice! Link back to The Broke and the Bookish to visit other bloggers’ lists.  This is a fun way to get to know fellow bloggers. Effective 1/16/18 this feature will be hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl (check out their blog for more information).

This week’s topic is Ten Books We Meant To Read In 2017 But Didn’t Get To (and totallyyyy plan to get to in 2018!!)

I felt torn about participating in this week’s topic. I haven’t had luck with reading off a list, so I feel nervous about creating a list of the books I hope to read in 2018.  Fingers crossed this post does not jinx me from reading these books lol.

What books did you not read in 2017 and hope to read this year?

I love Tessa Dare and it has been a while since I’ve read a historical romance. I hope to read this book soon. Thanks Katherine!

I also have so many books it was hard to narrow down to 10. The Names They Gave Us sounds really good. I hope you get to read it this year. Thank you Megan!

I hope I enjoy them too. I have the hardcover edition of Illuminae, so I always see it begging me to read it lol. Thanks Greg!

  1. I hope you get to read “Illuminae” this year, this was one of my favorite books in 2016! I can’t wait for “Obsidio” to come out soon! 🙂

I’ve heard so many great things about this book so I can’t wait to read this. One thing good about starting a series late is that I don’t have to wait long for all the books to be published lol. Thanks Sebastian for stopping by!

I loved Crown of Midnight and Daughter of The Pirate King! I’m reading Shadow and Bone at the moment, but I’m not loving it, so I’m not sure if I’ll read the sequel or not….will have to check out some reviews.

It’s been a long time since I read Shadow and Bone. I loved it but I do remember it was slow in some parts. I hope to read the second book soon, before I forget the story lol. Thanks Jo for stopping by!

I heard about the movie, so I’ve moved the series up on my tbr list. Thanks Rachael for stopping by!

  3. Also trying to stick to a list this year and actually read some books from my TBR shelf because I’m getting desperate! To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is at the top of my list. It’s been sitting on my shelves since it came out and I have no idea what’s holding me back from actually reading it. As for Siege and Storm, I’m currently reading it and hopefully, I’ll finish the trilogy this year! Loving it, by the way! Hope you have a wonderful week!

I met Jenny Han and have all the books signed. Yet I still haven’t read them yet lol. But I plan to change that this year. Thanks Elena for stopping by!

  4. I read 6 of these, but if you made me pick just one you should read, I would say Illuminae. Those books are just a whole experience with the visuals and mixed format. One of my favorite series.

I plan to read Illuminae soon. I got the hardback ARC from Comic Con and it’s sitting on my shelf “begging” me to read it lol. I’m reading Daughter of the Pirate King, which was on one of your Top 10 Lists, and I am loving it. Thanks for the recommendations!
