A curvy archaeologist with the find of a lifetime + a firefighter dragon shifter battling his instincts + a priceless artifact coveted by a ruthless rival = one blazing hot adventure!

When curvy American archaeologist Virginia Jones finds the lost burial mound of an ancient Anglo-Saxon king near the English city of Brighton, she uncovers much more than she expected. Unearthing a priceless artifact summons an evil dragon who’ll stop at nothing to claim the treasure for his own hoard. Trapped in a burning building by a beast that ought to be imaginary, Virginia's only hope is to call for emergency…

Dai Drake has an unusual occupation for a dragon shifter — he’s a firefighter, part of an elite all-shifter crew. When he rescues Virginia from the blaze, he instantly recognizes her as his one true mate. But how can he tell her what she is, when the first dragon she ever met was a greedy, bloodthirsty monster?

As Virginia and Dai work together to save the artifact from falling into the wrong claws, the spark between them quickly grows to an inferno. But will his secret make their relationship go up in smoke?

This is a sizzling hot, standalone BBW dragon shifter romance. No cliffhangers!

3.5 Stars for Firefighter Dragon

I love shifter romances so when I saw this book I knew I had to read it. This is a sexy introduction to a new series and new-to-me author.

What did I like?

-I enjoyed the creativity of the story. I’ve read other shifter romances but I’ve never come across firefighter dragons. After reading the synopsis I found it ironic that a dragon would be putting out fires, so I had to give this book a chance. I’m glad I did because this was fun and exciting. This was the first book I read that dealt with dragons love of treasure and how their treasure horde is used to distinguish their dominance, so I liked that aspect of the dragon culture. This series stands out from other shifter series I’ve read.

-I also liked the unique mix of the shifters. The elite all-shifter crew consists of a Pegasus, griffin, sea dragon and other mythical creatures, which I’ve haven’t seen in paranormal series.

-The story was the perfect mix of romance, suspense and action.

What didn’t I like?

-I wish the story was longer to develop the characters more. I liked Virginia and Dai but I felt there needed to be more of an insight to who they really are.

-This was my first audiobook from narrator Lucy Rivers and I thought her performance was ok. I disliked some of her voices.  I think Dai’s accent was wrong. I probably would enjoy this book more if I had read it.

Despite my issues I did like the story. I enjoyed the authors creativity and new take on shifter romances. I have the next books in the series and I can’t wait to read them.
