From the #1 NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author Susan Mallery, read the second irresistible installment in the Happily Inc series!
Mathias Mitchell’s easy smile hides a world of hurt. After the worst kind of family betrayal, he moves to Happily Inc., California—the wedding destination town supplies a steady stream of bridesmaids, perfect for his “no promises, no pain” lifestyle. Yet he can’t stop watching for his beautiful, elusive neighbor on the animal preserve behind their homes.

Gamekeeper Carol Lund knows she’s not special enough to attract an alpha male like Mathias, so his offer to help her adopt a herd for her lonely giraffe is surprising—and his determined seduction, even more so. But just as she finally welcomes him into her bed, his careless actions crush her heart. Will she give him a second chance to prove she’ll always come first in his heart?

Don’t miss You Say It First, the first book in the Happily Inc series.

Second Chance Girl is another heartwarming love story by Susan Mallery.  I want to move to Happily, Inc.!

Second Chance Girl is the second book in the Happily Inc. series, but this can be read as a standalone. Just as in her other series the author gives a quick recap and introduction of characters from previous books which makes it easy for new readers to fall along.  In Second Chance Girl the Lund sisters, Violet and Carol, take center stage and it is their love story.  The sisters are complete opposites. Violet collects and sells rare buttons and is the town’s fashionista, doing clothing alterations and consulting brides for their friend’s wedding planning company. Carol loves animals and works at their father’s animal preserve. Despite their different tastes the sisters have a strong bond. They both have been unlucky in love but their luck changes the moment Carol meets Mathias Mitchell and Violet meets Ulrich Sherwood.

This book alternates between the 4 POVs and I thought the different plots worked well together. Carol and Mathias’ story was emotional since they both are dealing with a painful past. Mathias’ mistrust comes from his abusive father and Carol’s insecurities comes from bad relationships. They are great together with some sexy banter and deep conversations. There were times I did get irritated with Carol’s insecurities but did I feel her pain and cried along with her.Violet and Ulrich’s story starts off rocky with a misunderstanding but blossoms into a perfect, made for TV romance. They were also a fun couple with flirtatious moments. In their own, special ways these characters find their second chance at love, which will just melt your heart. Add in the adorable beagle Sophie and Millie the giraffe, and you’ll be reading this book with a smile.

Happily Inc. is a small town filled with characters I can’t wait to read more of. It is touching to see how the moment one of them needs help they gather together to support them. I just hope the next book will be about Ronan, Mathias’ brother, who needs to find happiness again after dealing with a painful betrayal. The strong friendships, family unity and sweet romance is what I love about Susan Mallery’s books.

  1. If someone would marry me, I don’t care where it happens! 😝 Seriously, I see Mallery all over the romance world, and really need to read one of her books, since I consider myself quite the romance reader.
