The #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Fool's Gold romances invites you to visit Happily Inc., a wedding destination founded on a fairy tale
Sculptor Nick Mitchell grew up in a family of artists and learned from his volatile father that passion only leads to pain. As he waits on a new commission, he takes a day job as a humble carpenter at a theme wedding venue. The job has its perks—mainly the venue's captivating owner, Pallas Saunders. Although he won't let love consume him, for ecstasy with an expiration date, he's all in.
Pallas adores Weddings in a Box. But if she can't turn the floundering business around, she'll have no choice but cave to her domineering mother and trade taffeta for trust funds working at the family's bank. Then when a desperate bride begs Pallas for something completely out of the box, her irresistible new hire inspires her. Nick knows she doesn't belong behind a desk, and she knows in her heart that he's right—where she really belongs is in his arms.
You Say It First is everything I love about Susan Mallery’s books – a sweet, small town romance filled with family and friendship bonds to warm your heart.
The first chapter put a smile on my face and I knew this was going to be a great story. Pallas is the new owner of Weddings in a Box, a theme wedding venue in the town of Happily Inc. Inheriting the business from the previous owner was a surprise considering Pallas has always planned on a career in the family’s bank. But her stormy relationship with her mother has Pallas questioning what career path to take. Nick Mitchell is a famous sculptor who comes to Happily Inc. to stay with his brothers while he is waiting for a new commission. To stay busy Nick applies for a job opening at Weddings in a Box, which becomes a new discovery for him and Pallas. Should they follow their dreams? And should they take a chance on love? You’ll have to read You Say It First to find out what happens.
I loved how Pallas and Nick’s romance began. Their first meeting was funny and an early sign that their relationship was going to be a little wild and unique. There was great chemistry from the start and their romance was a slow build. The slow pace was perfect considering everything Pallas had to deal with and Nick was considerate and supportive during her troubled times. Because of their family issues Nick and Pallas both have doubts about love, which makes their romance even more touching because they both heal from their past. Author Susan Mallery develops characters that are realistic and likeable. I understood the pain Nick and Pallas felt because of their family and cheered them on as they dealt with their pain.
You Say It First is a good introduction for Susan Mallery’s new series. The small town of Happily, Inc. is filled with a mix of characters I can’t wait to read more of. Nick’s brothers are characters from Mallery’s Fools Gold series but it is not necessary to read that series first. Mallery’s series have crossed over before and I love how she makes the connection. It’s as if she treats all her books as one big family, which I can’t wait to get to know better.
You Say It First is a great start to a new series and perfect for all romance fans.

I love weddings so when I heard Pallas was a wedding planner I knew I had to read You Say It First! Pallas’ company Weddings in a Box provides themed weddings which is really fun and creative. With the help of her friends Weddings in a Box assists the bride with everything from the invitations, catering and bridal attire. One of the weddings Pallas plans is a mermaid theme and this collage is how I imagined her friends used their creativity to make this a special day. If you have already read You Say It First can you guess which image represents what Nick may have contributed to the wedding?
