Weekly Wrap-Up #126

Posted July 15, 2017 by Kathy in Weekly Wrap-Up / 22 Comments

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This weekly meme is a chance to share news about your blog, books and life. It is also a perfect opportunity to meet bloggers and add more books to your collection.

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good week.  It was a quiet and normal week for us.  Just work and the heat. The weather has been in the 100’s again but it is supposed to be cooler next week (in the 90’s lol).

I finally finished listening to Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare this week and I’m still upset with the ending. I was walking around the house upset and I got no sympathy from anyone.  My family doesn’t understand or care and told me “it’s just a book”.  I know it’s a book but it still upset me! Have you read a book that left you in an emotional wreck?  I had a hard time sleeping that night because I was so mad lol.

I’m now listening to Clam Jam by R.C. Boldt.  It’s on my COYER Summer reading list and it’s a funny romantic comedy. So far it is good and helping to put me in a better mood.

Currently reading or listening to:

  • Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo (ARC paperback)
  • Clam Jam by R.C. Boldt (audiobook)

Here is what happened since my last Weekly Wrap Up:

Reviews coming soon:

  • All or Nothing at All by Jennifer Probst (eARC) – for a blog tour
  • Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare (audiobook)

  1. My family never understands either. 🙂 I hope the romcom helps you with the sadness 😀

The heat is killing me, I really just want it too cool off to like the low 70’s maybe! 🙂

Have a great week, Kathy! Happy Reading!

The romcom is a nice change and distracting me from that awful ending lol. I’m tired of this heat and I can’t wait for winter again lol. Thanks Michelle and I hope you have a great week!

  2. I know exactly what you mean. Fortunately, my family does understand when that happens! Or at least, sympathizes.

I wonder how many of us are going to remark on the heat today? Most of us in the US, I guess, and maybe Europe as well. Wow, it’s hot!

My girls read too so I’ll have to remember if/when they have the same reaction so I can get back at them lol. This heat is crazy and I just wish we can all enjoy our summers. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

  3. I’ve so been there and it’s so frustrating that they don’t get it. My mom’s even a reader, sort of, and she doesn’t get it. To her, it’s still “just a book”. Grr! Hopefully that lighter read does the trick 🙂

    Have a great week Kathy!!

It’s crazy how a book can make us so emotional and now I can’t wait for the next book lol. The romcom is funny so it’s a nice distraction lol. Thanks Berls and I hope you have a great week!

That is so true! I love these books for the action, suspense and romance. If you like fantasy/paranormal then you might want to try this series. I hope you have a great week Laurel-Rain and have some cooler weather =)

  4. Yikes that’s too hot! Pretty bad when 90’s is cooler, right? Yeesh. And yes sometimes people just don’t understand! Sometimes it’s NOT “just a book” lol.

    REALLY curious about WW: Warbringer.

    • Kathy

It’s crazy how I am looking forward to 90 degree weather lol. WW: Warbringer is good so far. It has the action and humor just like the movie. Thanks Greg and I hope you have a great week!

It was a shocker! But I still loved the book and can’t wait for the next one (I’ll try to prepare myself for another heartbreaking story lol). Thanks Rachael for stopping by and have a great week!

  5. Sometimes, I tell book related type stories to my co-worker who sits next to me, and she nods, but I know she doesn’t understand. It makes me miss my daughter, because she is a reader and would totally lament with me.

    • Kathy

I have a co-worker that reads a lot too but she thinks I get crazy lol. I invested so much time by reading the book and connecting them I can’t help but get upset when bad things happen to them. Now I have to wait 2 years for the next book lol. I hope you still have a chance for some book talk with your daughter. Thanks Sam for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!

  6. No one listens to me either when I rant about a book. My dog even gets up and leaves the room. LOL It’s been in the 90s with heat indexes over 100 here and so sticky. There’s also been a lot of rain which doesn’t help. I think we’ll get some sunny days mid week and I can get in the pool again.

The heat has been awful and supposed to get hotter soon. My family doesn’t understand lol. Thanks Grace and I hope you have a great week!

  7. It’s nice to have a normal week once in a while. It’s been very warm here as well. My boyfriend is usually willing to listen to my book rants. But most of the time something in a book upsets me I just close the book and do something else. I hope you have a great week!

    • Kathy

If I get upset I normally stop reading. But for Lord of Shadows the scene was in the last chapter, so there wasn’t that much left to read lol. Thanks Lola and I hope you have a great week!!
