Weekly Wrap-Up #125

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This weekly meme is a chance to share news about your blog, books and life. It is also a perfect opportunity to meet bloggers and add more books to your collection.

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good week.  This week I was on vacation and it was nice break from work. Tuesday was the 4th of July holiday and we celebrated with a family BBQ and fireworks at our home. We don’t go to the big fireworks displays because of the crowds and traffic.  I bought a small box of fireworks for my kids to have fun. If you’re in the U.S. how was your 4th of July?

Friday was my daughter and my birthday. It’s hard to believe she is now 14 years old and will be starting high school next month.  For our birthdays we went to IHOP for a free pancake (I received a birthday coupon in my email). My kids make fun of me but I received a lot of birthday coupons from stores and restaurants we frequently go to. Free is free so why not use it lol.  We are going to Monterey Bay Aquarium on Saturday to continue our birthday celebration. Since our weather has been in the 100 degrees again it will be nice to be by the coast to cool down.

Currently reading or listening to:

  • Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare (audiobook)
  • Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo (ARC paperback)

Here is what happened since my last Weekly Wrap Up:

Reviews coming soon:

  • All or Nothing at All by Jennifer Probst (eARC) – for a blog tour
  • Want by Cindy Pon (audiobook)
  • Wires and Nerve by Marissa Meyer (hardcover)

At the movies:

We watched Spider-Man: Homecoming and we thought it was good.  While at the movies they showed the trailer for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. I had already seen this on Facebook and I can’t wait to see this.

I hope you have a great week!

Kathy

Thank you! I signed up for their free rewards programs so they give out special deals. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!

  1. Happy Birthday to you and your daughter! I love IHOP. It’s my second favorite breakfast place. The Cracker Barrel is my first, but I wonder if it’s only because we do not have one around here, so it’s such a treat when I travel. I hope you enjoy your continued festivities.

Thank you Sam! IHOP is our kids favorite and they always want to go there for breakfast lol. We don’t have Cracker Barrel here but I’ve always wanted to try it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!

My vacation went by too fast and I don’t feel like going back to work on Monday lol. We had a nice time and enjoyed our free foods lol. Thanks Laurel-Rain for stopping by and have a great week!

  2. Glad you had a good 4th! Ours was pretty nice too- low key but nice. And we had so many fireworks in the neighborhood we almost didn’t need to go to the official fireworks show! And happy birthday!! I’ve seen pictures of the Monterey Bay Aquarium and it looks fabulous.

I’m curious how Wonder Woman: Warbringer will turn out.

    • Kathy

I was surprised our neighborhood didn’t have that many fireworks. It was a nice change since they would light them really late at night and keep us awake lol. The aquarium is really nice and the weather was beautiful. Wonder Woman: Warbringer is good so far, I just haven’t had time to read so it’s taking me longer to finish. Thanks Greg for stopping by and have a great week!

  3. Sounds like you had a good week. I had Monday and Tuesday off, so a short week, which was nice. I agree with you that free is free. Glad you and your daughter had great birthdays. Time does seem to go fast. Hope you have a great week this week.

It was weird having the holiday on a Tuesday, but it’s good you had Monday off. We had a nice celebration. Thank you Melanie and I hope you have a great week too!

Red Robin is my favorite and I have a coupon from them too lol. The aquarium was really nice. Thanks Kim and I hope you have a great week!!

Happy birthday!! Wow that is hot!!! I don’t think I could handle that heat. I have heard such good things about te new Spiderman – glad you liked it too. Have a great week!

    • Kathy

Thank you Grace!! We are used to the heat and spend most of our time indoors, which is perfect for me to enjoy reading lol. Spiderman was really good and I can’t wait for the next Marvel movies. I hope you have a great week!

  5. I’m very pro-free! We always go to Red Robin during my birthday month because I love my cheeseburgers! The Aquarium sounds like lots of fun! We had a pretty low key 4th as well which I really enjoyed. We did go to a big fireworks show but we had discovered earlier in the week that the parking lot of my husband’s work had a pretty good view of the show so we went there and it wasn’t crowded so I really enjoyed it. I normally don’t enjoy them because the crowds and traffic make me nuts! Have a great week!

I love Red Robin and I have a birthday burger I need to claim soon lol. The aquarium was really nice and the weather was perfect. It was nice to get away from the hot weather. Thanks Katherine for stopping by and I hope you have a great week! Have fun on your RV trip!!

  6. Sounds like you had a fun 4th of July :). I am not in the US so we didn’t celebrate. That sounds nice you got free pancakes! Yum! Have a great week!

    • Kathy

I love pancakes but they always taste better from a restaurant lol. Thanks Lola and I hope you have a great week!
