Weekly Wrap-up #124

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This weekly meme is a chance to share news about your blog, books and life. It is also a perfect opportunity to meet bloggers and add more books to your collection.

Hi everyone and I hope you all had a good week.  This week felt like it went by so slow. It’s probably because I was excited to be on vacation next week, so of course time drags at work when I have something good to look forward to lol.  It’s the 4th of July holiday and it’s my daughter and mine’s birthday (we share a birthday on July 7th), so I always take this week off.  We have family visiting too so we have some fun plans for this week. But I also plan to do a lot of reading, blogging ahead and watching TV.  Lately I feel burned out on adult contemporary romance so I’m reading fantasy books to mix it up a little. What do you do when you feel burned out or in a slump?

My anniversary edition copies of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone arrived a day before the 20th anniversary.  It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years already.  The anniversary editions are so pretty!

Currently reading or listening to:

  • Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare (audiobook)
  • Wires and Nerve by Marissa Meyer (hardcover)

Here is what happened since my last Weekly Wrap Up:

Reviews coming soon:

  • Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh (audiobook)
  • All or Nothing at All by Jennifer Probst (eARC) – for a blog tour
  • Want by Cindy Pon (audiobook)

I hope you have a great week!

  1. Happy birthday this week! And hope you have a great 4th!! And I totally hear you- the week before a vacation ALWAYS drags lol.

Slumps are no fun. I usually have to change up what I’m reading or just find the right book. Usually it doesn’t take too long but I hate it when NOTHING seems to work!

I’m reading fantasy right now and I think it is helping to switch genres. I try to always alternate genres but my review schedule was back-to-back the same genre, so I was getting bored lol. Thanks Greg for stopping by and I hope you have a great 4th!

They are great and I feel like buying all of the hardback editions for the other houses (but I don’t have any shelf space lol). Thanks Kim and have a great week!

  2. I am getting a serious case of FOMO with respect to LoS. I need my turn at the library to come up quicker, before I hear any more spoilers (like from the moderator at BookCon)

LoS is good so far and I ordered it on Audible as soon as I saw James Marsters was the narrator. I loved him from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I really like this series (so far lol). Thanks Sam for stopping by and have a great week!

  3. Happy birthday to you and your daughter! Sounds like a fun week for you.

Enjoy those books…anniversary copies are lovely.

Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.

  4. Happy Birthday to you and your daughter. I hope you have a fun week off. I just got a four day weekend, but I’m going to meet my mom in Portland in a little over a week for another long weekend. I’m sure I will be in the same spot you were in this week. 🙂

I hope you have a fun trip! I haven’t been to Portland in a long time and we have talked about taking another trip there. Thanks Melanie and have a great week!

  5. It always feels like time goes extra slowly when you’re really looking forward to something. I hope you’re enjoying your vacation! I usually mix up genres when i feel like I am getting burned out with a genre or I try and pick up a book I am really excited for. I got myself in a slump last May by too much list reading in a row. Those anniversary copies of Harry Potter look so pretty! I hope you’ll have a great week!

I had a lot of adult contemporary romances back to back to review so switching to fantasy is a nice change. There is still some romance in these books but the fantasy elements make it more exciting. Thanks Lola and I hope you have a great weekend!!
