Weekly Wrap-Up #123

Posted June 24, 2017 by Kathy in Wrap-Up / 20 Comments

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This weekly meme is a chance to share news about your blog, books and life. It is also a perfect opportunity to meet bloggers and add more books to your collection.

Hi everyone and I hope you all had a good week.  It has been hot here in the Sacramento area and we are trying to stay cool. The temperature was in the 100 degrees and it caused a power outage at our work. Everyone was sent home but since I have a work laptop I did some hours of work at home. But the heat effected our Wi-Fi so we had hours of no internet use. The family complained but luckily I had blogged ahead so my posts for last week were all setup.  Since we had no internet I caught up on some reading. Luckily next week the temperatures are going to in the cooler 80’s and 90’s, which is much easier to handle. How is the weather where you live?

COYER Summer Reading List challenge started on June 17 and I’ve already finished one book (I’m really proud of myself since I’m a slow reader because I work full-time lol).  How are you doing on your challenges?

Currently reading or listening to:

  • All or Nothing at All by Jennifer Probst (eARC)
  • Want by Cindy Pon (audiobook)

Here is what happened since my last Weekly Wrap Up:

Reviews coming soon:

  • Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh (audiobook)
  • The Director and Don Juan by Katy Regnery (eARC)

I hope you have a great week!

Hot seems like the theme of this summer. I have been in North Carolina getting my daughter settled for grad school, but I am sure it is fairly miserable in NJ too. I have heard awesome things about Pon’s book. Looking forward to reading your review.

It’s always a hot summer here but we are supposed to get cooler weather this week. Wanted is good so far. Thanks Sam for stopping by and hope you have a great week!

  2. Oh, how wonderful that you have cooler days ahead! I don’t see that happening here, but as long as the power stays on and the AC works…I’m good. Fingers crossed.

Enjoy your reading…and thanks for visiting my blog.

My fingers are crossed for you!!! I get a little breeze from the Sacramento River but it is still hot lol. I hope you have a great week!

  3. Phew! I grew up in Sacramento and that heat sure can sap you. Good that you got ahead on your posts and neat that you got some extra reading time. I’m doing COYER, too. Wishing you well for the challenge!

    Have a cooler week. 🙂

We know our summers are hot but we still complain about it lol. It’s going to be cooler and I hope it stays that way for a while. Good luck on COYER too! Thanks Sophia for stopping by and have a great week!

  4. Yeah, I’ve noticed that effect of the internet (or your device) going down and you reading a lot more 😀 at least that’s the upside.
The weather here has been kind of cool, with rain a lot of the days. It almost never goes higher than 95 here, and that’s just a few days. We have cool summers.
    Have a good reading week!

We were lucky only our internet was lost. I would hate to lose our power but good thing the weather is cooling down this week. Thanks Evelina for stopping by and I hope you have a good reading week too!

Lol but isn’t your weather humid and you have storms! Ours is a dry heat and we shouldn’t really complain since the weather is worse in other areas. We know our summers are hot but we still complain lol. I love the Billionaire Builders series and I’m enjoying All or Nothing. Thanks Katherine for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!

I usually don’t blog ahead a week so I’m glad I did. You never know what will happen lol. Thanks Kim and I hope you have a great week!

  5. It was hot here then cooled down some, and the last few days it’s been very nice- 70’s with a breeze. It’s actually been a little cool in the evenings when that breeze gets going! I hope your temps stay moderate too…

Good luck with COYER! And have a great weel. 🙂

It’s been in the 80’s now which is a nice break from the high temperature. You are lucky to get a breeze! I hope we both continue to have cooler weather. Thanks Greg and I hope you have a great week too!

  6. Oh, the heat! It’s just starting to get warm here, I can’t even imagine it! Glad you got some reading in while the internet was out. Enjoy the ‘cooler’ temperatures!

Wow that is hot!! We have some pretty warm temps but we had some rain too. Good luck with COYER and have a great week!

    • Kathy

We need the rain here so that would be a nice relief from the high temps. I hope you have a great week Grace!!

  8. It’s also been warm here, I prefer the more moderate temperatures. That’s bad the internet suffered from the heat there.

I am also joining Coyer and finished my first book :). I am almost done with my second book.

    • Kathy

Yeah, we both finished a book lol! I hope we both do good for COYER. I have a lot of ARCs I hope to read too. Thanks Lola for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!
