Weekly Wrap-Up #119

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This weekly meme is a chance to share news about your blog, books and life. It is also a perfect opportunity to meet bloggers and add more books to your collection.

Hi everyone and I hope you all had a good week.  It rained during the week and some areas are flooding. We are ok but it is crazy to get all this rain. I know we need the rain but it will be nice to have a break from it this weekend. On Saturday my husband and I had an early Valentines date at the Lodi Wine and Chocolate Weekend. We were lucky to have sunny weather. This was our first time going and we had a fun time. I don’t drink alcohol often but I liked trying the different wines with the chocolates. Also it was a nice day to walk downtown Lodi.

Blog/Book news:

I won a copy of Ellen Degeneres’ audiobook The Funny Thing is…! I don’t read memoirs but I love Ellen so I can’t wait to listen to this.

Currently reading or listening to:

  • Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones (eARC)….I’m bored with this but I’ll read a little more before I decide to DNF
  • Bone Crossed by Patricia Briggs (audiobook)

Here is what happened since my last Weekly Wrap Up:

Reviews coming soon:

Smoldering Hunger by Donna Grant (audiobook)

Currently watching:

Nothing but I can’t wait for Stranger Things season 2 is coming this Halloween!

This was the second week of the COYER photo challenge and I only participated in 5 days:

  • Day 6 – Winter colors
  • Day 7 – Favorite book on your shelf
  • Day 8 – Blanket & a book
  • Day 9 – Favorite hobby (not books).  Reading is my only hobby but I do enjoy shopping lol.

I hope you have a great week!

I really liked Stranger Things especially because of the 80’s setting. I grew up in the 80’s so it brings back funny memories lol. Thank you Jennifer for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!

  1. That sounds so nice. I love Wine, we haven’t been to a winery in a while. My husband and I don’t do Valentine’s day but I think we might be due for a visit to a winery for our anniversary 🙂

I liked Stranger Things and I am looking forward to season two!

Have a great week, Kathy! Happy Reading! ox

Normally we don’t do anything special for Valentines so this was a nice change. I don’t watch a lot of tv so I really can’t wait for Stranger Things. Thanks Michelle and I hope you have a great week!

  2. We have had a lot of rain, too, and in the foothills, towns are being evacuated. I used to live in the foothills! So glad I don’t now.

But…no rain yesterday. A reprieve now and then is comforting.

I love the idea of a Wine and Chocolate event…I haven’t done one yet.

I actually read quite a few memoirs, but mostly those written by celebrities (which I enjoy), or authors.

Enjoy the new week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

It is nice to get a break from the rain. The wine event was fun and it tasted great with the chocolate. Now I want to go to Napa to do wine and cheese tasting lol. Thanks Laurel-Rain and I hope you have a great week!

  3. Sounds like a nice Valentines! I love Ellen Degeneres, can’t wait to hear how you enjoy her book. I need to add it to my list – preferably in audio (Assuming she narrates!). Have a great week!

Ellen narrates the audio so I can’t wait to listen to it. Thanks Berls and have a great week!

  4. Sorry to hear about the flooding. How awful for those affected. Glad it didn’t hit you guys.

wine and chocolate sounds good- happy Valentine’s Day to you guys. And I read my first Patricia Briggs book last week.

    Stranger Things 2 looks awesome!

We had fun at the wine and chocolate but on our way home we passed by some areas that was flooded. It is really sad to see all the damage and I hope it stops raining so they can recover from the damage. Stranger Things looks really good and all the 80’s stuff brings back funny memories lol. Thanks Greg and have a great week!

  5. Loved Stranger Things too. My son told me to watch it and I am glad I listened to him. Hope the rain lets up and you see some sun.

I don’t like horror but I really enjoyed Stranger Things. I love that it is set in the 80’s since it brings back fun memories of my childhood lol. I hope you have a great weekend!

  6. I am glad you were able to go to the Lodi Wine and Chocolate Weekend this weekend. It sounds like fun! The rain is wonderful, but, yes, the flooding isn’t. I’ve been following the news about the Oroville Dam. I feel for the residents who had to be evacuated. I know my mom in Sacramento is watching the river level quite closely as she doesn’t live too far away from the Sacramento River. I hope you enjoy Ellen Degeneres’ memoir. I really like her as well. Have a great week!

One of my co-workers lives by the Oroville Dam and they have been on evacuation alert. It has been crazy and now it is raining again. I hope your Mom stays safe and dry! Thank you Wendy and I hope you have a great weekend!
