Weekly Wrap-Up #118

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This weekly meme is a chance to share news about your blog, books and life. It is also a perfect opportunity to meet bloggers and add more books to your collection.

Hi everyone and I hope you all had a good week.  I missed 3 days of work because I was sick. I’ve been having bad headaches that sometimes leads to nausea so I stayed in bed. I know the stress from work is the cause of this so I’m trying to get more rest and not worry so much about work. We made some changes at work so that not all the responsibility is on me, so hopefully this will make things better. Our weather matched my mood because we had cloudy days and finally some rain.  It is supposed to rain all week, which is fine since we need the rain and I’m in no mood to go outside lol.

Blog news:

I need help!!! Is anyone having problems with EPUB files from Netgalley?  I can convert the file with Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) but I can’t read the file on my Nook. I get a message to enter an Adobe ID and password, which I am also having a hard time getting from ADE. I’ve gone on the ADE forums and there are a lot of people having the same issues. No one from ADE is responding! It’s so frustrating! I tried opening the file on my husband’s tablet and I get the same error message. I tried Calibre but get the message “this book is locked by DRM” and can’t be converted. I can read this book on my laptop but it is more convenient and comfortable on my Nook. Does anyone have an idea what is going on??

With being sick and having this EPUB problem at least I saw great news to cheer me up – the 2018 RT Convention is going to be in Reno, Nevada!!! Reno is a 2 ½ hour drive for me so I have to go! I already marked it on my calendar and told my husband lol. Is anyone planning to go next year?

Audiobook Review – Six of Crows

Reviews coming soon:

Any Time, Any Place by Jennifer Probst (eARC)

Currently watching:

We finally watched TV! We watched the first episode of season 2 for The Daredevil (Netflix). It was good and we need to find more time to watch again.

Instagram of the week

Receiving my subscription boxes cheered me up this week because it was a Star Wars theme! These are from Fandom of the Month Club and Smuggler’s Bounty. I cancelled my Loot Crate because we didn’t care for their themes. I would love to join the book subscription boxes but I don’t have the shelf space for them. Do you have any subscription boxes?

This was the first week for the COYER Photo challenge. I’ve failed other photo challenges (I either I forget or don’t have anything to take a picture of) so fingers crossed I do good on this challenge.

I hope you have a great week!

This publisher only gives out epubs. I’ll have to remember this when I look for ARCs lol. Thanks Grace and I hope you have a great week!

  1. I hope your headaches ease up on you and the stress 🙂 I can’t help you with your netgalley problem sorry. I read and reviewed anytime anyplace last month can’t wait to hear your thoughts.

I liked Anytime and I can’t wait for the next book! I’m really curious about Tristan and Sydney’s story! Thanks Megan and I hope you have a great week!

  2. I’m sorry you’ve been sick…and having NetGalley problems doesn’t help. I only get the e-books on my Kindle, which works fine.

I hadn’t watched Star Wars since the original films, but I recorded The Force Awakens and have started watching it (because of Carrie Fisher…and I love Harrison Ford).

Hope you sort your NetGalley books!

I’m feeling better and trying not to stress out lol. Normally I get the ARCs forwarded to my Kindle app but this publisher only gives out epub. I’ll have to remember to avoid them since I’m having so many problems. Thanks Laurel-Rain!!

  3. Yay for conventions (especially if they’re close by)! Sorry though to hear about the epub problem- I’ve heard of similar things and I’ve wondered if I’d be able to read e- ARC’s on my Nook.

I haven’t done any of the boxes but I’d love to. Nice pics! Looks like fun stuff… 🙂

I’m really excited about RT since it’s close by. There are more boxes I’d love to subscribe to but I don’t have shelf space for the books lol. Thanks Greg!

I’d love to subscribe to other boxes but they are expensive and I don’t have the shelf space lol. Thanks Laura!!

  4. Sorry to hear about your headaches and nausea. I have had some headaches like that too and it’s annoying.

I stopped getting the epub files from netgalley as they are a pain. The kindle files work great, so I now just read all the netgalley books on my ipad with the kindle app. But the epub files often are DRM protected and disappear after a while. Or they are ACSM files or something like that and you can’t convert them or anything. I did once had to make an account on adobe. Maybe once you set up the account it works? Maybe you can install the kindle app on your nook and read books that way? I hope you can find a solution for that soon. Or maybe you can e-mail the publisher and ask for a normal epub file?

Those boxes you got look great! Nice pictures :).

I’m feeling better now and we made some changes at work so I don’t have all the responsibility. So far it is helping. This publisher only offered epubs so I’m going to remember not to request books from them. This is too much a headache lol. Thanks Lola!!
