Weekly Wrap-Up #112

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This weekly meme is a chance to share news about your blog, books and life. It is also a perfect opportunity to meet bloggers and add more books to your collection.

Hi everyone!

It’s been stressful for the last 2 weeks.  I missed last week’s Weekly Wrap Up post because I was working on reports over the weekend. I can’t believe Christmas is next weekend and I am not done with my shopping yet.  We plan to go to the mall this weekend early (they open at 8 am) so we can miss the crowds, I just hope I finish all the shopping this weekend. I do have exciting news – I bought our tickets to Wondercon!  This is the same company that organizes the San Diego Comic Con but Wondercon is a smaller version.  It is on March 31 to April 2 and the convention center is across the street from Disneyland.  We will include a one day trip to Disneyland and my daughters are really excited.  I can’t wait too.  I hope we like Wondercon because getting the tickets was easy and I like that it is smaller than Comic Con (which can be overwhelming).

Blog news:

I am still working on my posts for the Top 10 of 2016 Blog Hop.  I am also working on my reading challenges wrap ups. Overall I did good but I did fail on two challenges. I need to decide on which challenges I’ll participate for 2017, but I will be cutting back since work usually gets in the way of my reading time.

Currently reading or listening to:

I’m 1 book away from making my Goodreads Reading Challenge goal! I’m currently reading The Dare and The Doctor by Kate Noble and listening to Beyond the Highland Mist by Karen Marie Moning (which is a re-read).  I’m confident I can finish both books to make my goal!

Here is what happened since my last Weekly Wrap Up:

Book Review – The Heiress and the Hothead

Book Review – Flirting with Fame

Double Cover Reveal – It’s You

Book Review – One Stormy Night

Cover Reveal – Until It Fades

Book Review – Two Men Walk Into A Bar (At Christmastime)

Blog Tour: Giveaway & Excerpt – Fire In You

Audiobook Review – Star Wars: Catalyst (A Rogue One Novel)

Reviews coming soon:

Heartless by Marissa Meyer (audiobook)

Sweetest Regret by Meredith Duran

Currently watching

I haven’t watched anything.

At the movies

We haven’t seen any new movies.  We’ll be busy over the weekend so we plan to watch Rogue One on the day after Christmas.

I hope you have a great week.  I won’t have a Weekly Wrap Up post on Christmas day so I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday!

I’m surprised with how well I did on some challenges. The year went so fast it’s crazy how it will be 2017 soon. Thanks Laura for stopping by and Happy Holidays!!

The comic conventions can get crazy but we love seeing the exhibits and people dressed up in costumes. Working has also made it hard for me to shop but I’m going to have to go to the mall one more time this week and then I’ll be done lol. Thank you Megan for stopping by and Merry Christmas!!

It feels good to just have 1 more book to make my goal. Now I need to plan my challenges for next year lol. Thanks Laurel for stopping by and have a great holiday!

  1. I signed up for three challenges which is plenty (I did zero last, er, this year). And congrats on Wondercon!! To be honest as much as I love hearing about ComicCon it does sound almost too big. Wondercon sounds a lot better.

I totally agree about Catalyst. I was pretty bored throughout even though I’m chomping at the bit for rogue One lol. I don’t think it’s essential reading either.

Have a great week and a merry Christmas!

I’m cutting back on the challenges to try to have a more relaxed approach for next year. Let’s see if it works lol. I hope Wondercon is good since I really don’t want to go to Comic Con anytime soon lol. Thanks Greg and I hope you have a great Christmas!

  2. I hope you managed to got some of your shopping done. It’s crazy how busy it can get this time of the year in shopping centers. That’s exciting news you got your tickets for Wondercon, I hope it will be fun! I ended up picking only two reading challenges for next year, although this year i just did quarterly recaps which made it easier to keep up with things. But I am going for simple next year. I hope you’ll have a great week!
