Top 10 of 2016 & Giveaway – The Best Book Friends

Posted December 29, 2016 by Kathy in Year in Review / 20 Comments

Welcome to day 4 of the Top 10 of 2016 Blog Hop! A huge thank you to our hosts TWO CHICKS ON BOOKS, FIKTSHUN, TALES OF A RAVENOUS READER and DARK FAERIE TALES!

Today’s list is Best Book Boyfriends/Girlfriends of 2016. The BBF/BGF’s MUST be from a book released in 2016 and from a book we’ve READ in 2016.

Normally this should be a romantic list of characters but since I enjoyed Middle Grade books this year it seems weird to think of them as BBFs.  So here is my list of Top 10 Best Book Friends of 2016.  These are characters who I would love to hang out with because they are so supportive of each other. No matter how crazy of any idea you have they got your back.  Plus these friends are so fun to be around.  Here is my list, in no particular order:

The Rousseaus – Jacqueline, Madeleine, & Jean-Christian (Jonquils for Jax, Marry Me Mad, and J.C. and the Bijoux Jolis by Katy Regnery)

Paranormal crimefighters Lockwood & Co. – Anthony, George, Lucy & Holly (The Creeping Shadow by Jonathan Stroud)

College besties – Elise, Jin, Reggie, Clint & Gavin (Flirting with Fame by Samantha Joyce)

Power couple in a galaxy far, far, away – Princess Leia & Han Solo (Bloodlines by Claudia Gray)

Lois Lane and her crew – “Smallvilleguy”, Maddy, James & Devin (Double Down by Gwenda Bond)

The ladies of Hudson Valley – Natalie, Roxie & Clara (Cream of the Crop by Alice Clayton)

The Lunar Chronicles allies – Cinder, Kai, Iko, Cress, Thorne, Scarlet, Wolf, Winter & Jacin (Winter by Marissa Meyer)

Biltmore estates protectors – Serafina & Braedan (Serafina and the Twisted Staff by Robert Beatty)

The next generation of Shadowhunters – Emma Carstairs & the Blackthorns (Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clara)

The American Women’s Soccer League champions – Jaime, Lainey & their Falcons teammates (Keeping Score by Sara Rider)

That’s my list. Who was your favorite character of 2016?

Before you visit other blogs on this hop don’t forget to enter my GIVEAWAY.  2016 was another fun blogging year for me. THANK YOU to everyone for supporting my blog!

It’s hard to choose and those are series I need to read soon. Thank you Alexandra for stopping by!

  1. I never finished the Lunar Chronicles, sadly! I liked Cinder a lot, but I read it years ago and somehow never brought myself to continuing the series. Perhaps one day I’ll binge-read all of the books. 😀 My favorite YA book boyfriend is Gray from The Forgetting – and my favorite adult one is Griffin from A Promise of Fire. 😀 Fabulous list, Kathy! =)

I loved Lady Midnight too and I can’t wait for the next book! Thank you Samantha for stopping by and good luck!

  2. Mary DeBorde

So many amazing books to pick from, but I think I can at least narrow down my 2016 favorites to two books lol:
The Graveyard Apartment (so deliciously gothic) & And The Trees Crept In 😀
    Love those spooky, atmospheric reads!

It is hard to narrow it down and those sound really good. Thank you Mary for stopping by and good luck!

Thanks and they were both a great group of friends. I hope we get to read the next books in these series =)
