New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis returns to Heartbreaker Bay with a fun and festive holiday novella!
It’s Christmas Eve and Rory Andrews is desperate to get home to the family she hasn’t seen in years. Problem is, her only ride to Lake Tahoe comes in the form of the annoyingly handsome Max Stranton, and his big, goofy, lovable dog Carl.
Hours stuck in a truck with the dead sexy Max sounds like a fate worse than death (not), but Rory’s out of options. She’s had a crush on Max since high school and she knows he’s attracted to her, too. But they have history… and Max is the only one who knows why it went south.
They’ve done a good job of ignoring their chemistry so far, but a long road trip in a massive blizzard might be just what they need to face their past… and one steamy, snowy night is all it takes to bring Max and Rory together at last.
3 Stars for One Snowy Night!
One Snowy Night is a short and sweet romance perfect to get in the holiday spirit. This is a novella involving characters from the Heartbreaker Bay series which I have not read. But this was really easy to follow and now I want to read the previous books in the series.
It’s Christmas Eve and Rory Andrews is desperate to get home for the holidays. Her only ride is with Max Stranton, whom she secretly had a childhood crush. But up until a few months ago, they hadn’t seen each other in years and their reunion is not a warm one. During the long drive to their hometown they confront their past and finally act on their sizzling attraction for each other. I thought the romance was rushed but given this is a novella I understand the need. Rory and Max learn from their past mistakes and their moments together were passionate. I just wished their story was longer and we spent time with Rory and her family.
This was the first book I’ve read from author Jill Shalvis and now I understand her popularity. With a small town setting the focus is on the character connections which I always enjoy the most. An adorable dog Carl added an element of humor to complete the story. I look forwarding to reading more from this author.
