Weekly Wrap-Up #109

Posted November 12, 2016 by Kathy in Wrap-Up / 12 Comments

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This weekly meme is a chance to share news about your blog, books and life. It is also a perfect opportunity to meet bloggers and add more books to your collection.

It’s been a shocking week for us here in the U.S. and I don’t want to talk about politics today. But all we can do is hope and pray for the best.  Something good did happen this week – my daughter passed her drivers permit test (again lol).  Her original permit expired so she had to renew it and now she’s practicing to drive. She’s still nervous to drive (that’s why we’ve postponed it for so long) but we need her to start driving herself around. It’s been a challenge driving her and my youngest daughter to their schools so she needs to get her driver’s license. I wonder if hypnosis will help with her nerves lol.

On Thursday and Friday my husband will be in Las Vegas and I can’t wait! It’s an early wedding anniversary trip and I’m looking forward to relaxing.  We are going to meet up with his sister and her husband and we have a show and dinner plans. While we are gone, my parents will be staying with the kids so for the next couple of days I’m going to be frantically cleaning the house. I hope I get everything cleaned up or at least stuffed in closets before they arrive lol. Does anyone else feel this way when family come for a visit?

Currently Watching

I finished watching Stranger Things on Netflix and I loved it. I finally understand the pictures on the internet of people dressed up as a girl with a shaved head, bloody nose and waffles lol. We saw some people in our neighborhood dressed as Eleven for Halloween.  I can’t wait for the next season. Now I need to get caught up on Arrow and start The Walking Dead.

I hope you have a great week and thank you for stopping by!

  1. Shocking week huh? And I just read something that said they’re still counting votes in CA and elsewhere… although it doesn’t matter now. Crazy system. 🙂 Hope you enjoy Lost Stars- I thought it was pretty good. Ha ha about Stranger Things- the waffles thing totally makes sense now, right? I need to get caught up on arrow too…

    Have a great week!

I like Lost Stars so far and I plan to read Catalyst too. I’m on a Star Wars high now, it’s a great escape from all the politics drama lol. Thanks Greg for stopping by and have a great week!!

I’m nervous for my daughter to drive but she’ll enjoy being independent. Especially when it starts getting really cold and she won’t have to wait outside to be picked up lol. Thanks Laura! I hope I win big too so I can retire lol. Have a great week!

  2. I’m still trying to wrap my head around how the popular vote is meaningless in our system…and I wish that I’d wake up one day and hear that the whole thing was a big error.

A better hope…that our everyday lives will be unaffected by what happens politically….Am I in denial?

Congrats on your daughter’s learner’s permit.

I love the stage when they have to be accompanied, and worry constantly about them driving on their own. My granddaughters have their drivers’ licenses, and when I accompanied the youngest one up north, she did some of the driving. White knuckle much?

Have fun in Vegas! It’s been eight years since I went…with my daughter. We had a blast! (Does that word “age” me? lol)

Thanks for sharing, and have a great week. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

It’s been 18 years since we’ve been to Vegas!! I’m sure we’ll have a blast but I know my husband will complain about the walking lol. Thanks Laurel-Rain for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!

Stranger Things started out slow but got better for me by the end. I loved seeing all the 80’s styles lol. So the next season should be interesting. Thanks Michelle!!!

  3. I’m a bit messy, so I’m never fond of having people come to visit. But I actually do as much housework as possible when they do, because otherwise my Mom will do it and I won’t be able to find anything.

Serafina is on my November TBR.
