4 Stars for Searching for Disaster!

Searching for Disaster is a novella from the Searching for series and it can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read all of the books in this series and I found this easy to follow (but it does have spoilers for the previous books).

This is an uplifting story of second chances. Second chances for romance and second chances for living. Izzy MacKenzie and Liam Devine first meet 6 years ago when they were both carefree young adults. Liam was entering the police academy and had sights on a bright future. Isabella has a troubled past and every day is just one big party. Despite their different backgrounds they can’t ignore the sizzling attraction. But after one perfect night Izzy’s fears and her addictions destroys any chances for the couple and they part ways. Fate brings them together but will Izzy sabotage their chances of a HEA again? You have to read this to find out!!

This was an emotional story. Izzy is now drug free and is on the road to changing her life. But her low self-esteem has her punishing herself for her past. So when Liam returns into her life she is determined not to ruin his life. I thought her fears and struggles were realistic and I couldn’t help but feel her pain. Liam was understanding, supportive and absolutely sexy! I really felt connected to them and cheered them on as they workout Izzy’s fears. I loved that they not only had a physical attraction but also an emotional connection. Izzy and Liam are finally ready to have their perfect HEA.

I enjoyed Searching for Disaster and need to read the previous books in the series. The women of Kinnections have a supportive and loving friendship and I want to experience all of their romances.

I received this book as a member of the XOXperts, XOXO After Dark’s official street team, in exchange for an honest review. Visit XOXOAfterDark.com for the best in romance, urban fantasy and women’s fiction.
