DAMON – For twenty-five years he’s served as a plaything for the gods. With no memory of his past, he has no way of knowing if this is his ultimate fate, but he senses there has to be more to life.

Damon’s hope for more comes in the form of the Sirens’ newest recruit. Elysia is unlike any trainee he’s ever met. Not only can she remember where she came from—an ability the Sirens block—but she has an instant connection to Damon, one he’s never felt and doesn’t understand. Soon Damon is willing to do anything to have Elysia. Even risk the wrath of the gods to break her out of Olympus so he can keep her for himself.

But Damon’s past isn’t a mystery to everyone. Evil forces are at work beneath the surface, and before long, Damon realizes that the connection he shares with Elysia isn’t a random coincidence. His fate—and the darkness it brings—was cemented long ago. And when it is finally revealed, no one will be safe.

My Review

I love the Eternal Guardians series and Awakened was perfect. I loved this book!

Awakened is the 8th book in Elisabeth Naughton’s Eternal Guardians series. This book can be read as a standalone since the story gives a brief background on characters from the previous books but I highly recommend you start with book 1, Marked, which the ebook version is currently FREE on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. This is an exciting paranormal series that mixes Greek mythology in a modern day setting. The Argonauts are immortal warriors descended from the greatest Ancient Greek heroes. They are sworn to protect the innocent which often includes battles with evil creatures and power hungry gods. They are also fiercely protective and passionate for their soulmates. Each book revolves around an Argonaut discovering their soulmate so I know there will be romance, action and exciting storylines. Awakened did not disappoint!

Without spoiling the story I loved how Awakened has introduced the next generation of the series. This book flashes forward 25 years from the last book so we see the children from the previous couples all grown up. This was a perfect transition to new characters but still continue the original plot of the Argonauts continuous battle with Zeus. I loved the chemistry between Elysia and Damon. They had steamy and heartwarming scenes that proved they were meant for each other. The humorous scenes with the Fates add fun to the story and also a sneak peek at the next book.

I love Elisabeth Naughton’s writing. With every book I know I’ll get an exciting story with characters I’ll fall in love with. I loved Awakened and I can’t wait to read more from this series. I highly recommend this book to paranormal fans looking for a story filled with action, adventure and romance.

  1. The first book is free and paranormal? I probably already have it on my kindle, haha. It does sound like a fun mix, with the Greek mythology mixed in and everything. And some action plus some romance is usually a great combo 🙂 I’m glad you loved it so much!
