From New York Times bestseller Katy Regnery comes another timeless tale of love everlasting!
Loosely inspired by the legend of Camelot, Dark Sexy Knight tells the story of dinner theater knight Colt Lane, who meets down-on-her-luck Verity Gwynn on the worst day of her life. Evicted from their home, Verity and her special-needs brother, Ryan, must find jobs or risk being separated. Colt, who is the furthest-possible thing from a white knight in real life, comes to their unlikely rescue, quickly cementing his place in Verity’s heart.
Colt has dark, deeply buried secrets that keep his smile hidden and his eyes down, which has kept people away . . . until he meets Verity, who seems immune to his gruff manners and taciturn ways. The more time Colt spends with her, the more he longs for her sweetness in his life and yearns to be the knight in shining armor she so desperately needs. Certain he will lose her if she learns the truth about his past, he must decide if he can trust her with his yesterday in order to build a beautiful tomorrow.
**Contemporary Romance. Due to profanity, mild violence and very strong sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.**

Dark Sexy Knight is another warmhearted romance from author Katy Regnery. I fell in love with Colt and Verity.
Dark Sexy Knight is the fourth book from Katy Regnery’s A Modern Fairytale series. This book is loosely inspired by the legends of Camelot, Sir Lancelot and Queen Guenevere. There is no “King Arthur” who is betrayed in this story. Instead it is the idea of a knight coming to the rescue of a fair lady. The knight of this story is Colt Lane. He spends his days as a Viking Knight for a medieval themed dinner theater. Colt has a dark past and has accepted that he is not deserving of anything good in his life. The fair lady is sweet and beautiful Verity Gwynn. She is down on her luck and desperate to find work for her brother Ryan and herself. Verity has had the responsibility of taking care of her older brother, who has special needs. The moment Verity and Colt meet there are sparks and Colt is the answer to Verity’s prayers. Verity and her brother get new jobs and a new place to say all thanks to Colt. I’m not going to spoil the rest of their love story but this book is a must read.
What I love most about this series is the author’s writing. Katy Regnery created another magical and romantic love story. And she always has strong female characters. Verity is not a damsel in distress. She’s had some bad luck but she is a survivor and has had the tough responsibility of taking care of her brother. Her love and friendship saves Colt. Verity is the sunshine and happiness that has been missing in Colt’s life. Dark Sexy Knight isn’t a story of a knight rescuing a damsel. It is about two people who save each other during a time when they thought all was lost.
Dark Sexy Knight also brings to light the discrimination people with special needs experience. It was heartbreaking to read about the abuse. Author Katy Regnery is the sister of a special-needs person so her personal experience was used for this book. Her knowledge of the struggles, cruelty and discrimination is brought to life. But she also shows readers the loving and compassionate relationship of Ryan, Verity and Colt. I’m walking away with a better understanding and respect of special-needs people and their families.
