Weekly Wrap-Up #94

Posted April 16, 2016 by Kathy in Wrap-Up / 17 Comments

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This weekly meme is a chance to share news about your blog, books and life. It is also a perfect opportunity to meet bloggers and add more books to your collection.

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good week.

I was out of town for 3 days for a business trip. The training on the new software went well but I’m happy to be home. I hate being away from my family plus I had a hard time sleeping in the hotel because the bed and pillows were too hard. So it’s good to have life back to normal again.

Last night was my daughter’s Senior Ball. The theme was An Enchanted Forest and she selected a gown fit for a princess. She looked so beautiful and I can’t believe my baby is graduating from high school next month!!

XOX April 2016

Have you seen all the pictures from the Las Vegas RT Convention on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook? Well I have and I’m so jealous of everyone there. I couldn’t take time off work for the convention but I did win this signed book from Vilmas Book Blog. Kami Garcia is one of the authors I missed seeing on the RT Teen day.

Lovely Reckless signed

Video pick of the week:

Star Wars fans you have to see this 360-degree image of the construction site for Disneyland’s new Star Wars-themed land. This is so funny seeing the AT-AT walkers and ships helping with the supplies! I’m not sure when this open but we will definitely plan another Disneyland trip when it does.

How was your week?

  1. I’m not always the biggest fan of traveling for work either. It’s always nice to get home. Hope you have a great weekend. 🙂

Cool video of the Star Wars construction. I love the ships hovering with the supplies. 🙂

I love the ships with the supplies too. I’ve seen sketches for the park and it looks really cool. I can’t wait for it to open. Thanks Greg and have a great week!

I plan to go to RT next year too. This year looked like a lot of fun. Thanks Kim and have a great week too!

  2. Some nice new arrivals there.

I love your daughter’s outfit and hair – I hope she enjoyed herself.

And I completely understand what you mean about being glad to be home!

She had a great time! Travelling is fun but after a while we miss the comfort of our homes lol. Thanks Deborah for stopping by and have a great week!

  3. Your daughter looks beautiful! I hope she had a wonderful time!
Travelling for work is always a bit tiring! You must be glad to be home 🙂
Interested to see what you think of Red Queen! 🙂

Thanks and she had a great time. She was actually sad that it would be her last time to be glamorous but she’s going to try to go to the ball again next year with her friends lol. I liked the Red Queen and need to read the next book!! Thanks Annika for stopping by and have a great week!

Thanks Molly!! I can’t wait for the Star Wars area too! I love Disneyland but it will be good to have more areas adults can enjoy too. Thanks Molly for stopping by and have a great week!

  4. I don’t like traveling very much…I used to enjoy it. But flying is no longer fun, since 9/11. The security checks are necessary, of course, but definitely make it all so difficult.

I can tolerate short trips that involve traveling by car…and even then, I have limits on how long I can enjoy living out of a suitcase. Home is nice.

Love your daughter’s outfit…she does look beautiful. Enjoy this time with her.

Thanks for sharing your books…enjoy! Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

I agree about the travelling! I had to drive for this trip and it took about 2 hours because of the traffic. Since I was alone I had to make sure I stayed alert even though I was so tired. But I listened to a good audiobook to keep me awake lol. My daughters are growing up so fast so I’m enjoying this time together. Thanks Laurel for stopping by and have a great week!

The pillows were rock hard and too soft. I ended up stacking 2 soft pillows but it still didn’t feel comfortable lol. Since I drove for the training maybe next time I’ll bring my own pillow lol. I hope to go to RT and wish it was closer. It would be great to save on the airline tickets if it was close to where we lived! Thanks Laura for stopping by and have a great week!

  5. That’s good to hear the training went well, but I know what you mean about being away from home. Those hotel beds always sleep uncomfortable and I have trouble with the pillows as well, I am very picky when it comes to pillows.

Your daughter looks lovely! I like her hair colour and the gown looks great on her!

That cookbook you got sounds good! I hope you’ll have a great week!
