Weekly Wrap-Up #92

Posted March 19, 2016 by Kathy in Wrap-Up / 22 Comments

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This weekly meme is a chance to share news about your blog, books and life. It is also a perfect opportunity to meet bloggers and add more books to your collection.

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good week.

I missed my Sunday post last weekend because I’ve been really busy. Work is crazy and stressful so by the time I get to relax I fall asleep lol. The weekends have also been busy looking for my daughter’s gown for her Senior ball in April. After 3 trips to the mall we finally found the dress today. It’s really pretty and she can’t wait to show her friends.

Is anyone watching March Madness (college basketball)?? I’m not a fan but my boss created a team building bracket pool. There is no money involved but some fun competition. I know nothing about these teams but I tried to select the teams with the best stats. If the stats were close to identical I had my daughter help me. She selected the winners by whoever had the better color uniforms and cutest mascot. If that didn’t work we selected by the location of the college and if we would like to visit it lol. So our method wasn’t logical but so far I picked 18 out of 34 correct. Not bad lol.

Currently reading or listening to:

I finally finished Jane Steele by Lyndsay Faye and I liked it. It is a good thing I didn’t DNF this. My review will be up soon.

I’m also listening to Second Grave on the Left by Darynda Jones. I love this series and I want Cookie to be my BFF! I’m listening to this in my car and laughing out loud. I must look crazy but this is really a fun series.

Have you seen this trailer? I’ve had these books but never got around to reading it. Now I want to read this before the movie comes out in September.

  1. My high school students are all hyped up about March Madness but their brackets are crap this year! Now its a contest to see who won’t have the WORST bracket. They crack me up!
Hope you have a good week!

I just hope I don’t get last place lol. Thanks Samantha for stopping by! Have a great week!

  2. I like basketball more than other sports, but I haven’t gotten involved in the “madness.” LOL

Enjoy…and what fun that your daughter is going to her Senior ball. It seems like just yesterday that my daughter was going, too, and so excited. I have the photo somewhere in a trunk where I stash extra photos.

I am curious about Jane Steele now. Thanks for sharing.

I’m off to check some of your links. Thanks for visiting my blog.

The kids grow fast and I’m so sad this will be her last high school dance. Jane Steele turned out really good so I’m glad I kept reading this. Have a great week Laurel-Rain!

My husband doesn’t watch basketball either but he’s busy playing his video games. I’m fine with it since I get to read undisturbed lol. I love Charlie and can’t wait to get caught up on the series. Have a great week Kim!

I’m actually not even watching the games lol. I just look online to see how I did lol. I’ll be posting a lot of pictures on FB =)…thanks Michelle for stopping by and have a great week!

You should have put money lol. I selected some underdogs so lets see how they do. Thanks Molly for stopping by and have a great week!

  3. Good luck with March Madness! I don’t follow basketball but I love the criteria you used- might as well right? 🙂

That Peregrine’s trailer looks fantastic. I have to admit the books never appealed to me, but I would definitely go see that. Is that Eva green? She’ll be good in that role. 🙂

It’s really a 50/50 chance so why get all technical with the picks lol. I’ll try to read the books but I definitely want to watch the movie. That is Eva Green and she is a great actress!! Thanks Greg and have a great week!

  4. I am sorry to hear you’ve been so busy. That’s great you finally found a dress for your daughter even though it took three trips to the mall. I like the way you picked the winners for your basketball poll, 18 out of 34 that’s pretty good! I hope you’ll have a great week!

Work will be busy for the next couple of months but hopefully it won’t be too bad. I’m so glad we finally found the dress too. She was just having a hard time finding something she really liked. Thanks Lola and have a great week!

I hope things calm down too. I’ve always heard about March Madness but never watched the games. I just hope I don’t end up in last place of the pool lol. Jane Steele turned out really good so I’m glad I continued to read it. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

    • Kathy

Our way was faster than doing “Eeny, meeny, miny, moe” lol. Let’s see if I end up in last place of the pool lol. Thanks Laura for stopping by and have a great week!

  5. Congrats on finding the perfect dress! My bracket was busted when Michigan State lost. I always root for the underdog. I’ve got Jane Steel on my stacks, glad you liked it. I’ve seen a few DNF. Love, love Charley and gang. Have a great week.

    • Kathy

I had Michigan State too! I just hope I’m not in last place for our group lol. I’m glad I didn’t give up on Jane Steele. I saw some DNFs too but I try to read more before I completely give up. I hope you like it too. Have a great week!

  6. I know all about being busy, Kathy. Now it’s Wednesday, and it’s the first time I’ve had the time to visit your Sunday post…
I’m glad you enjoyed the book you were wondering about DNF’ing, it’s great when that happens! And YAY for finding your daughter’s dress. I hope you’ll share photos 🙂
Have a wonderful rest of the week and happy reading.
