My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This weekly meme is a chance to share news about your blog, books and life. It is also a perfect opportunity to meet bloggers and add more books to your collection.

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good week. Monday was Martin Luther King Day, a holiday to celebrate the birthday of a great man. This is the only U.S. holiday observed as a day of service as a way to build a stronger community. I took the day off to volunteer at a school with my daughter Kailee. It was an older school so there were projects that included cleaning the classrooms, gardening, building benches and painting. We chose to paint a garden for the pre-K and Kindergarten classes. The organizers had pre-drawn the flowers and coded each section by color, so it was really easy for us to do. Since it was outside we were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day (the day before was raining hard). My daughter and I had a fun day and it felt good to give back to the community. Here are some pictures from the day:

The rest of the week was just our normal schedule – work and school for the kids. Nothing exciting except it did rain a lot, which is a good thing. It is nice to see everyone’s front lawns green again.

Around the blogosphere

Check out DC Films first look at the upcoming movies Justice League, Wonder Woman and the Suicide Squad. At first I wasn’t sure if I would like Wonder Woman because of the actress but this clip looks really good. I can’t wait to see these movies.

Here is a funny a Star Wars Kylo Ren ‘Undercover Boss’ spoof on SNL.

How was your week?

Thanks and I’m so glad it was already drawn on the wall. I would have hated the pressure of making it free hand lol. The skit is great and I love his serious expressions lol. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

  1. What an awesome way to spend the Martin Luther King Jr Holiday. What beautiful work! I had never heard of it being a day of service before. What does that say about all the communities I have lived in for the past several decades? Sad, really.

I need to dive back into Karen Marie Moning’s books. I do love her writing!

    Enjoy you week!

This is my 3rd year volunteering and it was nice to spend the day with my daughter. I love her KMM’s books and so far I’m liking Feverborn. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!!

  2. That was nice of you (and your daughter) to do that. and the wall looks nice. Great job! I’ve heard the Marie Lu books are good, although I haven’t read any of hers yet.

I think Wonder Woman and Suicide Squad both look good. I don’t know the WW actress but from what I saw she’s going to be kick butt in that role. Looks good!

I can’t wait to watch these movies. The WW actress is from the Fast and Furious movies so it was hard to see her as WW. The clip does look good! Thanks Greg!

  3. That’s awesome you spent your free day volunteering at a school, those flowers you painted looks great. It gives the school a happy feel. It’s nice they already had the flower pre-drawn and colour coded. Have a great week!

  4. Thanks for sharing the pictures, I love what you did with that wall, it changes the whole outlook 🙂 I used to decorate my wooden furniture home some years ago, too. I’m waiting for the Suicide squad : hey, Jared Leto !

Thanks Iza! The last painting project I did was over 10 years ago when I painted butterflies in my daughters bedroom. So this was a lot of fun.
