Weekly Wrap-Up #82

Posted December 27, 2015 by Kathy in Wrap-Up / 19 Comments

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a nice holiday with your loved ones. For us Christmas day didn’t go as planned. My mom was taken to the ER for a mild stroke. She is fine and they are running tests. So instead of going to our family party we spent the day with in the hospital. We had lunch at Black Bear Diner which was ok and didn’t live up to all the praise my Facebook friends made for this restaurant. But at least we were together for the day.

Last week I participated in the Top 10 of 2015 blog hop hosted by Jamie from Two Chicks On BooksRachel from Fiktshun, Nancy from Tales of a Ravenous Reader and Mindy from Magical Urban Fantasy Reads. Along with my top 10 lists I have a giveaway. It ends on 12/28 and is open INT so check it out! It was fun looking back at all the books I read but Christmas week is a really busy week to do a blog hop. I plan to visit more blogs to see their lists and add more books to my TBR.

This week will be quiet on the blog. With the holiday and more family gatherings I’ll just spend my time resting and blogging ahead.

Thanks Melanie. She is home now and doing much better. I hope you had a nice Christmas and have a Happy New Year!!

  1. Oh no. So sorry to hear that happened to your mother. I hate hospitals, no one wants to spend their CHristmas there. I hope you love all your new books and additions.

Thanks Michelle! She went home today and is feeling better. I hope you have a Happy New Year =)

  2. Oh, that is so scary! I am glad your mom will be alright. Several years ago (I think my first or second year of college) my aunt had a mild heart attack in September, and no one ever said a word about it. I only found out when someone accidentally let something slip that Christmas. It is always scary. I hope the tests come back with something conclusive.

I also feel the same way about people raving about restaurants on social media, or IRL. There have been several I’ve tried on the recommendation of others, and I thought the places must have been transported to another world because what I experienced was not matching up with what others experienced.

I hope the rest of the holidays ease into the new year for you and your family!

  3. Oh, so sorry to hear about your mom. I am glad she is okay and I hope she gets better soon. *hugs* Though it wasn’t a normal Christmas at least you got to be together even if it was a not so great diner. Hope this week goes great and have a Happy New Year! 🙂
