Weekly Wrap-Up #81

Posted December 19, 2015 by Kathy in Wrap-Up / 16 Comments

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

It finally feels like winter in Sacramento. It’s been raining and really cold so I’m finally wearing a jacket when I go out. And I’m finally getting to wear the new boots I bought!!

Last Saturday I baked 5 dozen cookies for a cookie exchange. I found an easy and tasty recipe on Pinterest and people liked the cookies. Some of the cookies did break while I was dipping them in the chocolate but it was good that I baked extra. Otherwise I wouldn’t have made enough for everyone. If I participate next year I’m going to look for something easier like bar cookies!

I finally started my Christmas shopping on Saturday. I have 5 young nieces and nephews so I found them all gifts from Toys R Us. I was so tempted to buy my 1-year-old nephew a light up drum just to torture his parents but I was nice and found a less noisy toy lol. Now on my list are some gift cards then I‘ll be done.

  1. Happy holidays to you too! Hope it’s a fantastic week… I laughed at your comment about the drum, it’s tempting sometimes isn’t it? LOL. I have a few things to get yet…

I like how your doing Top Ten’s all week. Great idea!

The drum would be revenge for the toys they bought my kids lol. This is my second year participating in the Top 10 week. I had a hard time narrowing down my list lol. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great Christmas Greg!

I’ll have to remember the headphones next time!! I saw all your Instagram pictures, can you send me some of that food? lol. I hope you have a great Christmas Michelle!!

  2. I’m done shopping. Just waiting for 2 packages to arrive. And I LOL’d about the drum. I live in NC and the weather has been unseasonably warm, 60s & 70s! After living here 18 yrs I don’t expect snow at Christmas but I also don’t expect having to wear shorts! lol

I have a recipe for 7-Layer cookies that are yum and so easy to make. I don’t add nuts to mine, so mine are really 6-Layer cookies. lol Email me if you’d like the recipe and I’ll send it to you. 🙂

    Merry Christmas!

I was still wearing sandals before this week but it is nice to finally have cool weather. Your cookies sound yummy so I’ll email you for the recipe. Thanks and I hope you have a great Christmas!!

  3. LOL about the drum, I fantasised about torturing my son & DIL with a noisy toy for my granddaughter but I was nice too (since I have her one day a week, it would probably come back to bite me lol) Yum Christmas cookies, I would have gobbled up all the broken ones. Merry Christmas and enjoy the holiday break 🙂

That wouldn’t be good if your granddaughter brought the toy to your house lol. I did eat most of the broken cookies lol. Thanks and have a great Christmas too!!

  4. Cookies dipped in chocolate?! They sound delicious! 🙂 I’m also running late with Christmas shopping this year, which is weird because I’ve felt Christmassy since about mid-November. Then I blinked and it’s Christmas on Friday hehe! Have a great holiday season 🙂
