2015 Reading Challenges Wrap-Up

Posted December 30, 2015 by Kathy in Reading Challenge / 2 Comments

It is hard to believe that 2015 is almost over. This ended up being a really hectic year at work and home so I failed on some of my challenges. Here is a recap:

2015 Reading Assignment

The 2015 Reading Assignment Challenge is hosted by Berls of Fantasy is More Fun and Michelle of Because Reading is More Fun. With this challenge you set a goal of how many books you read each month and which books you will read for the year.

My goal was Reading Level 4 – 36 books (3 books/month)

I FAILED with this challenge! I only read 15 out of the 36 books on my list.

Laura of Trips Down Imagination Road and Michelle of Because Reading is Better than Real Life are hosting the 2015 Bookish Resolutions Challenge.  What makes this different from other challenges is that you can mix your blog goals with personal goals.

Resolution #1 – Have 2 discussion posts per month

I met this goal for part of the year. Participating in Beyond the Books hosted by Kissinbluekaren.com has helped me make this goal.

Resolution #2 – Increase my Netgalley ratio by 20%

I met this goal! I increased my ratio by 22% but Netgalley’s website had an upgrade so my percentage changed overnight. I’m not sure what happened but I hope it stays this way.

Resolution #3 – Finish a series

I failed on this! For this resolution I selected His Fair Assassin series by Robin LaFevers . I only read book 1 & 2, so I need to buy or borrow the final book.

Resolution #4 – Visit & comment 4 blogs per week

I met this goal! If a post caught my eye from my Bloglovin email I visited the blog right away, rather than trying to remember to go on another day.

Resolution #5 – lose 10 pounds and lower my blood pressure

I failed on part of this goal. I did lose 5 pounds but I gained them back. Work has been crazy so I don’t have as much energy to get exercise. But I did lower my blood pressure!

2015 New-Release-Challenge-450x450

The 2015 New Release Challenge is hosted by Lexie at Unconventional Book Views and Stormi at Books, Movies, Reviews! Oh My!

My goal is New Release Pro (16 to 30 books)

I exceeded my goal by reading 42 new releases!

How did you do on your challenges?

Thanks Melanie! I started the year good with exercising 3 to 5 times a week but then my job promotion meant longer hours at work. But I really need to make time to exercise or else I’ll have to buy new clothes lol.
