Beyond The Books: My Bad Habits

Posted November 5, 2015 by Kathy in Discussion / 12 Comments

Beyond the Books is a weekly meme hosted by which gives bloggers topics (mostly non-bookish) to discuss about. This is a fun way of learning more about each other.  Check out her blog for the schedule of topics.

This week’s topic is:

Bad habits. Share yours and why you won’t give it up. Ever.

I have to confess I had a hard time deciding what my bad habits were.  So I asked my family and here is what they said:

My husband said I snore, but I can’t control this! For the record I don’t snore every night.  It is just when I am really tired.

My daughter said I was forgetful.  The reason why she thinks this is because I always ask them if I closed the garage or locked the car.  I am paranoid that I will forget to do this.  So I always ask them but of course they don’t pay attention.  So I end up going back to the car or now I have them look at the house when I drive off.  This drives them crazy but this is something I’ll never stop doing!

But I think my bad habit is being lazy at home.  At work I’m organized.  But once I get home I let things pile up. I’ll open our mail once a week since most of it is junk mail. And I also have a stack of paperwork (like receipts or stuff from the kid’s schools) that just sit there since I am lazy to file these. I know I should deal with these right away and I’ve tried to be better with this. I always end up going back to letting things pile up.

Now it is your turn.  What are your bad habits?

We can’t help it! We work so hard during the day so by the time we get home we are too tired to be organized at home. It’s good to know I’m not the only one =)

I’m just paranoid about it lol. But it is good to have them around to double check for me. Thanks Lizzie for stopping by =)

I can’t help but procrastinate. I work better under pressure so if I know I have visitors come by then I really get all the cleaning done lol.

  1. I’d like to think we all snore. My husband louder than most. LOL I could have added forgetfulness to my list. As much as I wish I didn’t have that problem, I imagine it will only get worse the older I get. Your last one — that’s me too. Haha I’ve had clean folded towels sitting on shelf in my living room for a week. I really should just take it upstairs and put it away.

I’ve left folded clothes on our coach for days! I just keep walking by it because I’m too lazy to put it away. I grew up in a two story home so I know it is tiring to go up and down with the laundry. But I now live in a one story house so I really have no excuse not put away the laundry lol.

  2. Those aren’t that bad. I think we are all a little lazy at home. You deserve to be lazy somewhere. If it were the other way around it would be bad habit. Thanks for playing along this week!
