Weekly Wrap-Up #74

Posted October 18, 2015 by Kathy in Wrap-Up / 16 Comments

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

We had a typical busy week with work and the kids. We had warm weather again but it is finally cooling down. Saturday we went to the Folsom Renaissance Faire and the weather was cool and cloudy. This was our first faire so we had a lot of fun seeing everyone in costume. I found someone that looked like a young Jamie Fraser (Outlander series) so of course I had to take his picture. And the royal court had amazing costumes. We also had fun watching a jousting competition. We can’t wait to go again next year.

Thanks Mia and it was a lot of fun. This was our first time and I can’t wait to go to more. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

  1. Sounds like you had a busy week. That fair looks like a lot of fun! I always enjoy visiting fairs like that and seeing all the amazing customes people wear. We had a few chilly days here as well, it’s definitely getting colder. Have a great week!

Some of the gowns were beautiful and I wish I knew how to sew lol. We had a great time and I can’t wait to go again next year. Thanks Lola and have a great week!

  2. I love Ren faires and go as often as I can, which isn’t nearly enough. The big one by us is a couple hours away or I would go more. I love the whole atmosphere. A few years back the Ren faire wasn’t in season but a bunch of participants were in costume in a bar we were in- they were having a get together. Needless to say that was an interesting bar crowd… a wizard with a long white beard, some pirates and the women in their gowns. Fun times!

That must have been funny to see at a bar! But it is fun how they get into character. We can’t wait to go again next year and dress up. Thanks Greg!

I would love to dress up but too bad I don’t know how to sew lol. But I’ll have to look for a costume to wear next time. Thanks Kim!

  3. Your mention of the Folsom Renaissance Faire made me wonder if you are in Northern California…When I lived in Sacramento, there was a lake and town called Folsom nearby.

There are probably towns named Folsom elsewhere, but I was curious.

Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.

  4. Oh wow the Renaissance Faire sounds wonderful, love the photos. There is one held every year not far from us, the costumes are always amazing and I always plan to attend and never quite get there … next year lol. Keen to see what you think of The Bourbon Kings on audio, I have it in print but I do have audible credits. Have a great week and happy reading 🙂

I’ve always heard about the faire but never took the time to go lol. But I’m glad we finally went and had a lot of fun. The Bourbon Kings is good so far. The audio is really fun to listen to since the narrator uses a Southern accent. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
