Weekly Wrap-Up #71

Posted September 27, 2015 by Kathy in Wrap-Up / 6 Comments

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kim at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Our internet is back up! In last week’s post I talked about our slow internet at home so after being on hold for 2 hours with our phone company our internet connection was fixed. Turns out something happened to our settings so they were able to fix it remotely. We are all happy again using the internet.

The registration for the RT Book Convention opened up on Monday. I was planning on going but I didn’t get my time off approved at work. We are going live with a new software in April so no one can have any time off that month. I was really looking forward to my first RT Book Convention. I hope I can go to the convention in 2017.

Has anyone gone to a Renaissance Faire? I am taking my daughters to our very first faire, the Folsom Renaissance Faire, in October and they are getting their costumes ready. They keep telling me to wear a costume but I don’t know what to dress up as. If you have gone to a faire did you dress up? Do you have to dress up?

Currently Watching

This week we watched premieres of new TV shows. On Monday night we watched Blindspot (NBC) and we’ve been waiting all summer for this show. It aired in our area at 10 pm, which is past our normal bedtime. I was worried I would fall asleep while watching but this show has a great cast and had an action filled premiere I stayed wide awake. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next episode.

On Thursday we watched Heroes Reborn (NBC). I loved the original Heroes series and was mad when it got cancelled. The premiere episode was good and had some of the original characters and actors. But it has been a long time since the original series so it took me a while to remember the characters powers. But I like the new characters and it’s good to see actor Zachary Levi (Chuck, Tangled) on TV. I can’t wait to find out what happened to the cheerleader!

How was your week?

  1. We’ve gone to the Michigan Renaissance Festival for years, and it is a lot of fun. You don’t have to dress up although it is fun to do so. You see all kinds of costumes there, so don’t worry too much about it- you’ll see it all. 🙂 I like the atmosphere of it- it’s a great way to spend a day.

Sorry to hear about the convention- that’s a bummer!

I watched Blindspot too, and thought it was pretty good.

I’ve been seeing pictures online of the faire and it looks like a lot of fun. And people wear different costumes so maybe this year I’ll go as a normal modern day person and get ideas for next year lol. Thanks Greg and have a nice week!

  2. I am glad to hear your internet works again, I hate it when internet is down or slow as I spent so much time behind my computer and on the internet. That’s so sad you couldn’t get time off to go to the RT book covnention, hopefully you can go next year! That Renaissance Faire sounds fun, I’ve been to a few fairs or festivals where people dress up, but I usually don’t or I just wear something I don’t wear as often and look a bit nicer. It is fun to see what customes others wear. I hope you have a great week!

I hope I can go to a RT soon, they look like so much fun and with so many authors I love. I’m not sure if I’ll wear a costume to the faire. I want to be comfortable since we’ll be walking around a lot lol. Thanks Lola and have a great week!
