Weekly Wrap-Up #67

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Hi Everyone!! I hope you all had a great week!

This was another busy week for me. On Thursday my daughter Tyler Marie had her wisdom teeth pulled. She had a total of 4 taken out and is still swollen and in pain. She’s tired of eating mashed potatoes and smoothies but hopefully she’ll be able to eat normally soon.

I finished the scrapbook I made for my managers retirement. It turned out really cute. The album holds messages from everyone in the department, so in a way it acts as our card for her. We also got her an engraved clock. She really liked it and I did have fun making it. It has been a long time since I scrapbooked so it felt good to do something creative.

Is anyone going to the RT Booklovers Convention in Las Vegas next year? I am planning to go and this update was in their newsletter:

Wow! Have we got some fun things planned for RT Vegas, April 12–17, 2016. For starters, our co-sponsored opening party on Wednesday night is called Vintage Vegas Romance Casino. Each sponsor will have their own gaming table (Black Jack, Texas Hold ‘Em, Craps or Roulette). Each table comes with a “dealer,” who will teach you how to play and guide you through the betting process. Upon entering the party, each attendee will receive $2,000 in play money to start, so you can have fun going around from table to table, playing and learning the games. There will also be some slot machines around where you can try your hand at winning the jackpot! There will be showgirls and possibly a male revue, and Elvis, of course. You may even see the Rat Pack and Marilyn Monroe walking around for photo ops and to join in the fun!

Other parties include: a Twisted Fairy Tale Costume Party; a Bad Boys of Romance party; and a Cirque du Punk party complete with acrobats and fun fair treats.

This sounds like so much fun and I can’t wait to go!

FitReaders Update

I did better this week by working out 4 days. It still is a struggle to fit in exercise time during the week so I’m making to always exercise on my days.

How was your week?

  1. 4 of them pulled? Yikes no fun. I’ve had two out, at different times, but that’s a lot all at once. And the convention sounds fun…

    Enjoy your reads this week!

I had 3 wisdom teeth taken out (I was missing a fourth one) so I understand her pain. This will be my first RT convention so I can’t wait to go. Have a great week Greg!

  2. I am so glad I still have my wisdom teeth, it sounds so scary and painfull to have them pulled. I hope she can eat normal food soon. Maybe you can make mashed potatoes with mashed caulifower and add some curry powder, it’s really yummy and soft to eat.
That scrapbook looks great! That’s such a great personalized gift! I hope you have a great week!

This is the closest the RT Convention will be to me so I’m saving money and my vacation time at work for this trip. Thanks Kathryn for stopping by and have a great week!

My manager loved it and I had a lot of fun making it. I understand my daughters pain so hopefully she’ll heal fast. Thanks Kim and have a great week!

My daughter was out of it for the 2 days so I think that helped with the pain. She’s doing better now. I would love to make a scrapbook for Christmas presents too and I’m going to try to do them on Shutterfly. Hopefully I will have time lol. Thanks Laura for stopping by and have a great week!

  3. That scrapbook looks awesome. I hope she appreciates it. I got Firewalker too, but it is the second in the series, did you know that? Apparently, they did massive giveaways for book two (i got my copy from Shelf Awareness a few weeks ago) but book 1 and 2 come out on the same day. So, yea, I preordered it. I hope it is good.

Thanks Karen! My manager loved it and it was more special than a regular card. Yes, I read the first book Trial by Fire. So they are finally releasing a paperback. I hope you like this series. I can’t wait to find out what happens in Firewalker.

  4. Oh your poor daughter, I had 4 wisdom teeth removed when I was in my early 20’s and just the mention of it now makes me *shudder* …
I’d love to go to a Booklovers Convention, sounds like so much fun but a big ask all the way from Australia lol. The scrapbook you made looks wonderful, I bet your manager loved it. I love scrapbooking, wish I could eke out a little more time to spend on it. Have a great week and happy reading 🙂
