Weekly Wrap-Up #66

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Hi Everyone!! I hope you all had a great week!

This was another busy week since the kids are now in school. But this week was all about my oldest daughter Tyler Marie.

On Tuesday night we went to her high school for the parent meeting for the Senior class. The meeting was to give us information on college application due dates and all the fun events that are planned for their last year. The events include the Senior Ball, a trip to Disneyland and a local water park, and Sober Grad Night (at a local bowling alley). I already knew her Senior year was going to be expensive but the school put together a nice package that is affordable. It includes all those events plus the yearbook and a class t-shirt with all their names on it. But I won’t pay for anything until she makes sure her friends are going on the Disneyland trip. Tyler doesn’t want to go without her friends so then I can pay for everything else individually (and save some money!).

On Saturday Tyler passed her permit driving test!! So now she has to start learning how to drive. I told my husband that he has to teach her. I don’t have the patience to do this plus I do everything else (trips to the mall and beauty salon) so it’s his turn! It will be a while until she gets a car but I at least want to get her driver’s license in case of emergencies.

Also on Saturday we met with the school photographer for Tyler’s Senior portraits. We selected the pose for the yearbook and I can’t believe how expensive these packages are!!

It’s good I was promoted at work because this school year is EXPENSIVE!!

FitReaders Update

I only worked out 3 days a week (this is a lot better than last week). I’m going to start working out every other day, so hopefully a break between will be easier for me to manage. I’m just so tired when I get home but I have to try harder.

How was your week?

  1. Everything is so expensive now. Looks like they have a lot going on and will be a fun year. I still can’t believe it’s the school year already… 🙂

The Summer went by too fast!! It will be a fun and expensive year. But at least I have a long break until my youngest will be a Senior! Have a great week Greg!

  2. Is that what I have to look forward too 🙂 Senior year is so exciting, I hope she has the best year. My kids start school soon and I am sort of looking forward to it because it brings things back to normal around here. I love when they are home but for 2 months it’s MIND BLOWING 🙂

I hope you have a great week, Kathy! Happy Reading! ox

Yes, but at least you have a while before you have to go through this lol! The Summer went too fast but it is nice to have the kids out of the house!! Thanks Michelle and have a great week!

Luckily I have to do this only twice! And the kids are 5 years apart so I have a while till I have to do this again. We had a Disneyland trip but I didn’t want to go because of the strict dress code. We went to a local amusement park instead and had a great time. Thanks Kim for stopping by!!

  3. Oh wow such expense is mind boggling. I can understand your being tired when you get home from work and exercise just doesn’t sound inviting. I was pretty much like that when I was working, some days I pushed through it and some days I just said ‘too tired’!

Yes, they allow monthly payments! This is a great way to budget our finances. Plus the events aren’t until next year so the school doesn’t really need the money right away. Thanks Deb for stopping by and have a great week!

  4. Sounds like that school plans a lot of exciting things for the senior year and that’s nice they have an affordable package if you want everything, but I guess if she doesn’t want to go on the disney trip it’s cheaper to buy everything seperately. Congrats on Tyler getting her driving permit. I am always a bit confused when i hear peopel mentioning about teaching their kids how to drive, as here in the netherlands you need to a different test for that and take driving lessons from a professional teacher, else you aren’t allowed to drive. So you need to know the theory and practice and can only take the tests if your teacher thinks you’re ready for them. I still don’t have my driver’s permit as I don’t need it so far. I hope you have a great week!

We also need to take driving lessons from a professional teacher and take a driving test. But in the recent years they have made the rules stricter, which is a good thing. My daughter has to drive a total of 50 hours before she can take the test. So it will be along time before she gets her license. She’s never driven a car before so that’s why we need to teach her before she goes to a professional teacher. We are in no rush so this slow process is good! Thanks Lola for stopping by!
