Proposing to Preston is the second of four books about the Philadelphia-based, wildly-handsome Winslow brothers who are all on the look-out for love.

(Except Brooks... he's probably sailing around the world with Skye by now. And Cameron, who's having too much fun sparring with Margaret. And Christopher, who's only on the look-out for a congressional seat and absolutely. nothing. else.)

Preston Winslow has a heart as open as the sky and room in his life for someone special. When he falls in love with Broadway actress, Elise Klassan, he holds nothing back.

Elise, who has made tremendous sacrifices to forward her career, is swept off her feet by handsome, charming Preston...but the stage has been her first love for so many years, she doesn't know if there's room for Preston in her life. When the day comes that she must choose between her ambition and her heart, she profoundly hurts the one man who could have made her happy.

Two years later, Elise has become a world-famous actress and Preston is a very successful lawyer. But fame has not equaled happiness for Elise, and Preston is much too bitter and cynical to ever consider falling in love again.

Is it possible that the only person who can mend Preston's heart is the one who originally broke it? Only if Elise can figure out a way to make him believe in love all over again.

*The Winslow Brothers books are a companion series to the English Brothers books, but all can be read as standalones. All books in The Winslow Brothers series are approximately 200 pages. The RWA classifies this as "Mid-length Contemporary Romance."

Purple My Review

Proposing to Preston is another 5 star hit for author Katy Regnery.

In Proposing to Preston we meet Preston Winslow and Elise Klassan. They are perfect strangers who have one thing in common – the ambition and drive to fulfill their dreams. For Preston his dream is to become a successful lawyer. Elise’s dream is to see her name in bright lights on Broadway. So when they meet, falling in love is unexpected and is an unplanned distraction for their career goals. But they can’t ignore the chemistry and passion they feel for each other. As they make their relationship work with their busy schedules they fall deeper in love. But will love get in the way of their dreams? You have to read Proposing to Preston to find out!

What did I like about Proposing to Preston?

I fell in love with Preston and Elise. I found it easy to relate to their ambition and their need to find a balance between work and family. As with all of Katy Regnery’s books it is the characters that stand out. The Blueberry Lane Series is based upon the 5 families that live on Blueberry Lane. They are wealthy and have corporate and political influence, but that is just used as a background. The stories focuses on people going after their dreams and overcoming their personal fears or insecurities. Readers can easily form a connection with the characters and not get lost with the details of an extravagant lifestyle.

I also loved Preston and Elise’s love story. Elise comes from a Mennonite family. The lifestyle is simple and plain. And they don’t practice pre-marital sex. So the pace of their relationship is slow and perfect for Elise’s beliefs. Preston really cares for Elise so he respects her and is patient with her. Their whirlwind romance is passionate and heartbreaking. They both make mistakes in their relationship and I found it easy to agree with both of their points of views. This story stirred up different emotions that kept me entertained and unable to put down.

What didn’t I like about Proposing to Preston?

The only thing I didn’t like was for this to end. I didn’t want to say goodbye to Preston and Elise. But I know that we will get to see this couple in the next books of The Winslow Brothers series.

Katy Regnery is one of my favorite authors. Her writing is flawless. With every new book I am more impressed with her storytelling and creativity. I know that there will be romance, characters on a journey of self-discovery and a sense of family unity. The books of The Blueberry Lane Series are approximately 200 pages and are a perfect way to add a quick romance into your day.

This book meets the COYER Summer Scavenger Hunt #31 (read a book by an author you’ve previously read & given 5 stars – Bidding on Brooks).

About Katy Regnery

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katy Regnery started her writing career by enrolling in a short story class in January 2012. One year later, she signed her first contract and Katy’s first novel was published in September 2013.

Twenty-five books later, Katy claims authorship of the multi-titled, New York Times and USA Today Blueberry Lane Series, which follows the English, Winslow, Rousseau, Story, and Ambler families of Philadelphia; the six-book, bestselling ~a modern fairytale~ series; and several other standalone novels and novellas.

Katy’s boxed set, The English Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1–4, hit the USA Today bestseller list in 2015, and her Christmas story, Marrying Mr. English, appeared on the list a week later. In May 2016, Katy’s Blueberry Lane collection, The Winslow Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1-4, became a New York Times E-book bestseller.

In 2016, Katy signed a print-only agreement with Spencerhill Press. As a result, her Blueberry Lane paperback books will now be distributed to brick and mortar bookstores all over the United States.

Katy lives in the relative wilds of northern Fairfield County, Connecticut, where her writing room looks out at the woods, and her husband, two young children, two dogs, and one Blue Tonkinese kitten create just enough cheerful chaos to remind her that the very best love stories begin at home.
