The Dark Kings soldier on in their fight to preserve their dragon magic. But eternal doom is always close behind…

His name is Laith. To most, he’s known as the owner of a local pub near Dreagan. But little do his patrons know that beneath his handsome, charming exterior Laith has the heart and soul of a Dragon King—one who wields control by keeping his friends close and his enemies, just across the border, closer. Until a mysterious stranger enters the picture, and sets his whole world off course…

Iona is a woman with a mission: To learn the truth about her dead father. She’s returned to Scotland only to learn that she’s part of an ancient pact with Dreagan—one that will threaten the fragile peace with the Dragon Kings. Gorgeous, sly Iona isn’t like anyone Laith has ever met before . . . and she harbors a secret that others would kill to possess. Will she complete him—or destroy him? Passion always comes with a price…

Purple My Review

Hot Blooded is another romantic story about a Dragon King finding his mate. This time it is Laith, the owner of a local pub who is drawn to human Iona Campbell. Iona returns to Scotland to learn the truth about her dead father. There is instant attraction once they meet and author Donna Grant writes a passionate and steamy romance. It’s just as hot as I expected.

But what I really enjoyed most about this book is the action. Hot Blooded continues the subplot in which the Dragon Kings are facing an unknown enemy. We get to see more of this mysterious character and witness his plots against the Dragon Kings. But his identity is still a mystery. This is driving me crazy but it is also pulling me in more into the series.

Hot Blooded is the 4th book of the Dark Kings series and it can be read as a standalone. But I suggest you read all the books (including the novellas) in order to get a full understanding of the story. Plus you will fall in love the sexy dragon shifting Highlanders finding their soul mates! This is one of my favorite series and I highly suggest it to all paranormal fans!

  1. oh I know how you feel about this “secret’ enemy, I mean seriously…but you know Grant is doing it on purpose to keep you going in the series hehe. I love this series, this is actually the next book up. Hopefully I will remember to grab it at my local library on my next visit. What I have loved most about this series, is the action and how she works in the great love stories with everything else happening. Great review hun, and hope you are enjoying your weekend so far.

Part of me wants to know who the enemy is but that would mean the series might be close to an end. And I don’t want this series to end yet! Thanks for stopping by!!!
