Weekly Wrap-Up #60

Posted June 28, 2015 by Kathy in Wrap-Up / 10 Comments

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

2 words to describe this week – hot and emotional!

The weather in Sacramento has been in the 100 degrees. It is awful being outside (even just walking to and from my car). With this kind of weather I just want to stay inside and also not eat. I can survive on cold sandwiches and salads but of course the family wouldn’t agree. So cooking is so hard during this time. I’m trying to find more crockpot recipes so we don’t have stand over a hot stove.

This week was my youngest daughter Kailee’s 6th grade promotion. I started crying when they played the music for them to march in. It’s hard to believe how fast she’s grown up. I remember dropping her off at the day care across the street from her school. She didn’t cry but I did lol. But she’s excited and nervous to start her Junior High School next year. A lot of her friends will be at the same school so that should make the transition easier for all of them.

Here is what happened last week on the blog:

  1. My families favorite meal during summer is my pasta salad. I make a regular salad and toss in some cold pasta and dress it. They love it plus I try to make antipasto type salads also with lots of meats and cheeses. I hate the heat so our house is always freezing and going outside is not an option lol My kids run around like crazy but I need shade or AC 🙂

They really do grow up so fast! Congrats on her promotion to the next grade!

Have a great week, Kathy! Happy Reading and Stay cool! ox

Pasta salad sounds really good and I have a recipe my husband liked that I haven’t cooked in a while. Thanks for the suggestion!!

  2. I hate hot weather. Love summer, but can do without the stifling heat. 100 degrees would piss me off so much LOL. We’re in low 80’s in Michigan at the moment and humidity is low, so we’re doing OK, but late summer does get humid here. I won’t complain though, with the heat you guys are having.

I agree about the heat but unfortunately Sacramento rarely gets cool during this time of year. I would be happy with low 80’s! Thanks Greg!

  3. This week, the temps have been hot too, I kept craving for fresh vegetable and fruit salads 🙂 You managed to work out 4 times in spite of the heat ? You were brave, I couldn’t have lifted a finger.. Congrats on your daughter’s promotion, I think we mothers are more emotional than our kids at certain times ! Have a great week 😉

I waited until after dinner to exercise and I stayed indoors. It was too hot to even walk at night! Next year my oldest will be graduating high school so it’s going to be another emotional event. Thanks Iza and I hope you have a nice vacation!

Thanks Kim! I’ll have to convince my husband to have sandwiches. It’s just too hot to cook!

I enjoyed Lindsey’s other books so it was nice to read something new from her. This heat makes everything difficult to do. Thanks for stopping by!
