Bidding on Brooks is the first of four books about the Philadelphia-based, wildly-handsome Winslow brothers who are all on the look-out for love.

(Except Preston. He's been down that road before and still has the scars to prove it. And maybe Cameron, because he's super hot, but too hot-headed to be decent boyfriend material...)

Railroaded into a bachelor auction by his sister, Jessica, Brooks Winslow asks his friend, Skye Sorenson, to bid on him to avoid the possibility of any romantic entanglements. Fiercely competitive and protective of those he cares for, Brooks was profoundly affected by the loss of his father at an early age. A witness to his mother’s terrible loneliness and his siblings’ grief, the ex-Olympian has never allowed himself to fall in love.

Skye Sorenson, the plucky mechanic at Sorenson Marina, where Brooks moors his three sailboats, is a credible sailor in her own right…and has quietly lusted after Brooks for years. But her longstanding friendship with Brooks has always made romance seem impossible.

When Skye agrees to bid on Brooks, the two cast off for a weeklong ocean adventure on Brooks’ sailboat, The Zephyr, where the last thing Skye expects to lose is her heart.

Return to the world created in the English Brothers books with this fresh foursome of scorching hot Winslow Brothers!

*The Winslow Brothers books are a companion series to the English Brothers books, but all can be read as standalones. All books in The Winslow Brothers series are approximately 200 pages. The RWA classifies this as "Mid-length Contemporary Romance."

Purple My Review

Bidding On Brooks is another 5 STAR and PERFECT romance from Katy Regnery!

Skye Sorenson has always loved two things – sailing and Brooks Winslow. Her love of sailing is fulfilled with her job as a mechanic at her family owned marina. But Skye has always known that Brooks, the handsome and wealthy ex-Olympian, was out-of-reach so she’s settled for just being friends. Brooks Winslow is the oldest in his family and after the death of his father he took on the role for his younger siblings. Knowing how devastated a family can be with the loss he has never allowed himself to fall in love. But when his sister asks him to be a bachelor in a charity auction Brooks panics at the potential outcome and asks Skye to bid on him. What began as a friend helping out another friend quickly turns into desire. Brooks and Skye not only share their love for sailing but they both have had the loss of a parent that changed and formed their lives. But will this mutual loss ruin their chances of happiness? You have to read it to find out!!

I’ve always enjoyed stories of friends becoming lovers. These relationships are built on a solid foundation of understanding and respect which adds more meaning into the passion they feel for each other. And it is always exciting to see the chemistry between the characters build up to the final realization that they were meant for each other. Bidding On Brooks is the heart-stirring love story of Brooks and Skye that had me laughing, swooning and crying. I loved everything about this book!

Author Katy Regnery is one of my favorite authors. Her writing is flawless. But what I love the most about this author is the diversity in her stories. Fans have been taken on a journey to the sweet small-town in The Hearts of Montana series, the road of healing for a wounded soldier in The Vixen and The Vet, the rich and powerful in The English Brothers series and now the beautiful waters of Bidding on Brooks. With her books fans know there will be romance, characters on a journey of self-discovery, and a sense of family unity. But with Bidding on Brooks fans will now come to know this author for edge-of-your-seat action and suspense. The scenes of Brooks and Skye sailing are written with so much detail I can imagine everything as if I was watching a movie. But no matter what the setting it is the characters that she brings life to that keeps me coming back for more. It is easy to relate with these characters hopes, fears and dreams. I can’t help but cheer them on and fall in love with them.

Bidding on Brooks is the first book of The Winslow Brothers, which is a companion series to The English Brothers but it can be read as a standalone. This is approximately 200 pages and a perfect way to add a quick romance into your day.

The song “What If I” by Meghan Trainor plays in a scene from Bidding On Brooks. I’ve never heard of it before so I had to find it. The lyrics are emotional and romantic. This is perfect for Brooks and Skye’s love story!

In 2016, Katy signed a print-only agreement with Spencerhill Press. As a result, her Blueberry Lane paperback books will now be distributed to brick and mortar bookstores all over the United States.

Katy lives in the relative wilds of northern Fairfield County, Connecticut, where her writing room looks out at the woods, and her husband, two young children, two dogs, and one Blue Tonkinese kitten create just enough cheerful chaos to remind her that the very best love stories begin at home.
