IS A WAR WORTH FIGHTING FOR

Shara has one chance to make things right with her family—and to prove her worth. It seemed like such an easy mission…until she actually meets Kiril. His charm, his sexual magnetism is too much for her to ignore. Shara knows that falling into Kiril’s arms can bring her nothing but trouble. Yet she discovers an inner strength she didn’t know she had…and an attraction that knows no bounds. But is her desire for Kiril worth the risk of eternal doom for them both?

My Review

Burning Desire is the third book in the Dark Kings series with Scottish shape shifting dragons who are fierce warriors and passionate lovers. This is my new favorite book from the series! I loved this!

The Dark Kings series is filled with action and steamy romance. But with Burning Desire there was added excitement because we get a glimpse into the dark fae world through Shara. Before this book their world was a mystery.  But now fans get an understanding of the politics and customs of the fae.  Burning Desire brings together Dragon King Kiril and Shara. As a couple they truly have the odds against them, more so than the other dragons and their human mates. This is because of the long feud between the dragons and dark fae.  They both have grown to never trust one of their kind but for Kiril and Shara the passion is too strong to ignore.

As with all of Donna Grant’s books I fall in love with the characters. Kiril is a sexy dragon king who is loyal to his brother dragons and is on a mission to save his friend Rhi. But it is Shara who I was drawn to in this book and who has become a favorite female character from this series (along with Rhi). As a dark fae she is expected to be cold-hearted and evil-minded. But since she grew up among humans she is merciful and sympathetic, traits that her family did not approve of.  She has disappointed them once and if she is to be accepted into the family she must do what they say. But even with that pressure Shara stood on her own by following her heart and conscience. Rather than rely on her family she takes her life in her own hands and made some bold moves. Shara’s story is exciting and suspenseful; I couldn’t put the book down because of her!

Burning Desire was another exciting and romantic story, which is just what I have grown to expect from author Donna Grant. The romance is steamy, the passion between Kiril and Shara is intense and heartwarming, and the fight scenes are exciting I can imagine them in a movie. Burning Desire can be read as a standalone but I suggest you read all the books (including the novellas). This is one of my favorite series and I highly suggest this to all paranormal romance fans.
