Here is my monthly update for the challenges I am participating this year.
The 2015 Reading Assignment Challenge is hosted by Berls of Fantasy is More Fun and Michelle of Because Reading is More Fun. With this challenge you set a goal of how many books you read each month and which books you will read for the year.
My goal is Reading Level 4 – 36 books (3 books/month)
For April I’m using a PASS! I didn’t read any of my books for this challenge. Work was really stressful this month, my boss was out of the office for a family emergency so I was the main supervisor for 3 weeks for a staff of 20 – it was crazy. By the time I got home I was too tired to read. I took it easy this month and I reviewed 3 books. I also read 3 more for the fun of it and I won’t be writing up reviews for these (I wanted to take a break from the stress of a deadline).
Here is what I read from my list:
- Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren
- Bad Romeo by Leisa Rayven
- Princess of Thorns by Stacey Jay
- Tangled by Emma Chase
- The One by Kiera Cass
- Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers
- Barefoot by the Sea by Roxanne St. Claire
- Fire Rising by Donna Grant
- Burning Desire by Donna Grant
Laura of Trips Down Imagination Road and Michelle of Because Reading is Better than Real Life are hosting the 2015 Bookish Resolutions Challenge. What makes this different from other challenges is that you can mix your blog goals with personal goals.
Resolution #1 – Have 2 discussion posts per month
I failed on this resolution! I didn’t have any discussion posts this month. It was a bad month – with work and then some computer problems. And I’ve been participating in the Book Blogger Hop hosted by the Coffee Addicted Writer but the topics of the week didn’t interest me.
Resolution #2 – Increase my Netgalley ratio by 20%
My approval ratio went up 1% points. I read 2 ARCs but added 1 ARC (for a blog tour). But so far for this goal I have increased my ratio 6%, so 14% to go!!
Resolution #3 – Finish a series
I finally decided to finish His Fair Assassin series by Robin LaFevers to meet this goal. I plan to read book 2 in May. This will meet my HW challenge & Kimba’s Clean Sweep ARC Challenge (killing 2 birds with 1 stone!).
Resolution #4 – Visit & comment 4 blogs per week
I’ve been doing good with this. If a post catches my eye from my Bloglovin email I visit the blog right away, rather than trying to remember to go on another day.
Resolution #5 – lose 10 pounds and lower my blood pressure
So far I’ve lost 3 pounds! It’s a really slow progress and I am getting frustrated. I’m now counting my carbs so hopefully this will help. I didn’t see the doctor this month so I am not sure if my blood pressure has gone up or down. But I do feel good so hopefully that is a sign that my blood pressure isn’t too high.
My goal is New Release Pro (16 to 30 books)
Here is what I read so far:
- Frosted by Katy Regnery
- Burned by Karen Marie Moning
- Kiss Me Kate by Katy Regnery
- Stian’s Mistake by Hillary Thompson
- The Master by Kresley Cole
- The Walls Around Us by Nova Ren Suma
- A Desperate Fortune by Susanna Kearsley
- Feeding the Fire by Andrea Laurence
- Manwhore by Katy Evans
How are you doing on your challenges?
