Kiss Me, Kate is the sixth of six books about the Philadelphia-based, wildly-handsome English brothers (and one lovely cousin!) who are all on the look-out for love.

Kate English, cousin to the beguiling English Brothers, has relocated to Philadelphia and now works with her cousins at English & Company. The problem with moving to Philly? It was where Kate met her first love, Etienne Rousseau. Since the move, Kate can’t seem shake the painful memories of a romance that broke her heart.

Etienne Rousseau, neighbor and arch-enemy of the English family, is recently single and has every intention of enjoying his newly-minted bachelor-status. That is…until his brother inks a deal with English & Company, forcing Etienne to work with his one-time lover, Kate English. Though he wants to hate the girl who once destroyed his life, he can't deny the fierce attraction or hide the deep tenderness he still feels for Kate.

With vibrant flashbacks of their passionate, teenage love affair making it impossible to ignore their unresolved history, Kate and Etienne will commit to unraveling the secrets of their heartbreaking past to make way for a breathtaking future.

My Review 4

5 stars for Kiss Me Kate!

Kiss Me Kate is a story of first love, first heartache, and having a second chance at love.  Author Katy Regnery is an amazing writer so it came as no surprise that I loved everything about this book!

In Kiss Me Kate Etienne Rousseau and Kate English meet as teenagers and have a summer love affair.  When Kate returns to her home they promise to continue their romance.  But a misunderstanding and rivalry between their families destroy their chances of love.  With no other choice but to move on, years go by until Kate and Etienne are finally reunited for a business deal.  But their painful past stands in the way of the deal and for them to move forward.  Author Katy Regnery took the classic Romeo and Juliet and gave them a modern day voice through Kate and Etienne. Instead of the tragic ending in the classic tale, Kiss Me Kate has characters who fight for their chance to be together.

With all of Katy Regnery’s books it is the characters that I fall in love with. Kate is beautiful, intelligent and caring. But with Etienne the author does the impossible by making a hated character from previous books into one of my favorite book boyfriends of this series. In Seduced by Stratton (The English Brothers #4) Etienne was introduced as the womanizing, unfaithful boyfriend.  But we learn that not everything is as it seems and Etienne was hurt just as much as Kate was from their breakup.  As you learn more of their past you can’t help but cheer for them to have a happily ever after ending.

Kate and Etienne story was the most romantic of The English Brothers series. There are some sexy and steamy scenes but what touched me most was the intense chemistry between the characters.  The passion between Kate and Etienne was clear from the flashbacks and also from their present day conversations. I loved that Kate and Etienne cared enough for each other to talk about the past instead of just jumping in to bed.  Their heartfelt confessions to each other were swoon worthy and written beautifully that it brought me to tears.

Kiss Me Kate is the 15th book I’ve read and reviewed from Katy Regnery and it lived up to my expectations. Katy Regnery has perfected her writing of creating short and quick stories that are filled with the same amount of intrigue and emotion of full length novels. The English Brothers series are only 200 pages long but I am happily satisfied but at the same time I would love more! I am sad that this is the final book for the series but I can’t wait to read for the spin-off series, The Winslow Brothers!

Kiss Me Kate and The English Brothers series is a must read for all romance fans!

About Katy Regnery

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katy Regnery started her writing career by enrolling in a short story class in January 2012. One year later, she signed her first contract and Katy’s first novel was published in September 2013.

Twenty-five books later, Katy claims authorship of the multi-titled, New York Times and USA Today Blueberry Lane Series, which follows the English, Winslow, Rousseau, Story, and Ambler families of Philadelphia; the six-book, bestselling ~a modern fairytale~ series; and several other standalone novels and novellas.

Katy’s first modern fairytale romance, The Vixen and the Vet, was nominated for a RITA® in 2015 and won the 2015 Kindle Book Award for romance. Katy’s boxed set, The English Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1–4, hit the USA Today bestseller list in 2015, and her Christmas story, Marrying Mr. English, appeared on the list a week later. In May 2016, Katy’s Blueberry Lane collection, The Winslow Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1-4, became a New York Times E-book bestseller.

In 2016, Katy signed a print-only agreement with Spencerhill Press. As a result, her Blueberry Lane paperback books will now be distributed to brick and mortar bookstores all over the United States.

Katy lives in the relative wilds of northern Fairfield County, Connecticut, where her writing room looks out at the woods, and her husband, two young children, two dogs, and one Blue Tonkinese kitten create just enough cheerful chaos to remind her that the very best love stories begin at home.

Each book in the series is 200 pages so it’s a nice way to add a quick romance to your reading. I love this author and I hope you give her books a try. Thanks Grace!
