To celebrate the season, myself and six other bloggers have put together a Christmas giveaway. But as part of the treat, we’ll each be sharing a Christmas Story. Enjoy the stories and then fill in the Rafflecopter with what we each want for Christmas. Happy Holidays!
A Christmas Carol
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is one of my favorite Christmas stories. I have to admit my earliest memory of this story is not from reading the book but from watching the movie. In elementary school we went on a school field trip to watch Scrooge. This was in the 80’s but according to IMDB the version I saw was originally released in 1970. I had never heard of “Scrooge” before so I remember thinking we were going to watch a cartoon movie about a talking pelican (seriously I was really young lol). But I was really surprised once the movie started and I remember being completely focused on the story (which is really hard at that age). I did finally read the book and it is one of my favorites.
A Christmas Carol and its theme has been made into numerous movies and books. One of my favorite movie versions is the 1988 movie Scrooged. I think Bill Murray, Carol Kane and Bobcat Goldthwait are hilarious in this movie. I also love this movie because this is one of the many movies my husband and I saw while we were dating, so it brings back great memories. Here is one of my favorite scenes from the movie:
