I had a lot of fun with last week’s Top 10 of 2014 blog hop so it got me thinking about all the other exciting things that happened in 2014. On my Weekly Wrap-Up posts I’ve complained about how stressful work has been. There are some major changes going on at work which I don’t have a control over, so instead of complaining about it I’m going to accept it and think positive. I am lucky to still have a job with great medical benefits so I’m not going to let work bother me so much. I also have my family that I am thankful for having. So today I am sharing my family moments of 2014, because our loved ones are what really matters.
Our family was blessed to have 2 new additions:
Theron is the newest grandson for my husband’s family. My 11-year-old daughter was the youngest grandchild before Theron so it’s been a long time since we had a little baby around. We also welcomed Madelyn, my cousin’s first child. I used to babysit my cousin so it makes me feel old that now he is a dad now. It is so much fun having new babies in the family to cuddle and spoil, but I don’t have to deal with the sleepless nights!
Birthdays, anniversaries and a graduation
My daughters turned 16 and 11 this year. We had small celebrations and it is hard to believe how fast they have grown up.
I celebrated my 14th anniversary with my company. Yeah it’s one more year closer to retirement!
My niece Gabrielle graduated from college! She is the first grandchild on my side to graduate so we are all really proud of her.
My sister and brother-in-law celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and my parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
My husband and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary. We have been together for a total of 26 years!
I did the Run Like A Diva in San Francisco with my sister and sister-in-law. My sister improved on her running time and at the end of the race we received a medal, tiara, a rose and champagne from some firemen!
I also went with my daughter on her trip to science camp. We hiked each day which was a lot of work but I did it! I’m really proud of my daughter for what she accomplished on this trip and I’ll be writing more about this in January. Here are some pictures of her doing some activities during the trip.
Now that I look at this list I see that we did have a lot of good times in 2014. I hate to sound cliché but all the good times does outweigh the bad times of this year. Sadly we did lose some family and friends this year but we know they are in good hands and they will always be in our hearts.
What’s coming in 2015?
We plan to go to Las Vegas for my cousins wedding. It will also be a family reunion.
My daughter and I will be going back to the science camp (since it got cut short because of the weather). So there is more hiking and maybe I’ll get the nerve to do the zip line!
We are going to Comic Con San Diego again in July!
In August my oldest daughter will start her senior year in high school. And my youngest daughter will start junior high school.
My husband and I will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary! I’m still not sure how we will be celebrating (hopefully a nice getaway for the family).
Did you have any celebrations in 2014? Do you have anything exciting planned for 2015?
