Book Looks was created by Jen at Books and Other Happy Ever Afters . Combining our love of books & fashion with book cover or scene inspired outfits.
I know it’s still early to celebrate Christmas but Jennifer & Kimba’s Ho-Ho-Ho Read-A-Thon put me in the holiday mood. So to celebrate my Book Looks for the upcoming weeks will be featuring books with a holiday themed cover.
This week’s feature is:
Waitress Tess Branson has earned a bad reputation, and the nickname “Fast Tessie,” as result of her poor judgement where men are concerned. She learned from a young age that men – of all ages – were only interested in one thing, which has made Tess distrustful even though she yearns for love.
Lucas Flynn, the short order cook at the restaurant where Tess works, has just been released on parole. After committing a terrible crime and losing someone he loved, he’s trying to get his life back on track. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a kind, pretty waitress who has problems of her own.
Tess makes a wish on a star one wintry night, but it’s going to take a heap of Christmas magic to help it come true!
I selected Katy Regnery’s The Christmas Wish because it is one of my favorite holiday novellas (check out my review here).
For this look I selected a dress that is pretty and something I would love to wear. For my Book Looks I love to play “dress-up” with the gorgeous full-length gowns but realistically I would never wear the look. My life isn’t that glamorous! But this is a look I can pull off and I can wear to a company party or for New Year’s Eve (or even later on for a Wedding). I love the color of the dress and shoes. The blazer looks great with this dress or later on with nice slacks and even jeans. The makeup and accessories complete the look. And I think this is something Tess would love to wear (it’s a departure from the sexy clothes she is famous for wearing).
So what do you think?
