Weekly Wrap-Up 24

Posted October 12, 2014 by Kathy in Wrap-Up / 14 Comments

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I had another drama free week! The weather cooled down to the 80’s so we are getting closer to Fall weather.  It is supposed to be 75 this week so that would be great.  I will be going to Marie Lu’s author signing this week and I’m really looking forward to meeting her.  I just finished The Young Elites so I can’t wait to talk to her about it!

Here is what happened last week on the blog:

Don’t miss out on these giveaways:

This week on the blog:

  • The Young Elites by Marie Lu (review)
  • Halloween theme post
  • Book Looks
  • Bookish Mood Board
  • Book Blog Walkers Check-in

Currently reading:

Stitching Snow by R.C. Lewis – I received this ARC from Comic Con and I finally have time to read this. I hope this good!

Instagram Photo Challenge:

I am still participating in the #BSMPhotoaday challenge created by Book Soulmates and co-hosted by Bookcratinators. Here are my photos for day 5 to 10:

BSMOct2014 5 to 10

Day 5 – Favorite stationary :  I received the True Blood and Game of Thrones notebooks from Comic Con. I love these so I hate to ruin them.  I also found some Culture Club stationary I bought from the 80’s! I can’t believe I still have these.

Day 6 – #Shelfie:  Since I have a Nook I don’t have a lot of paperbacks. I store them in this container. I had to give up our spare room when my mother-in-law moved in so I don’t have room for a shelf. So at least these are in a clear container so I can see the titles and I don’t have to worry about dust lol.

Day 7 – A thrilling read:  The Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole!!

Day 8 – My boots & a book:  hopefully I’ll be able to wear these and read this book this year!

Day 9 – Favorite Fall candle:  I have no candles so these look good!

Day 10 – My view outside:  a view from my walk in our neighborhood

I got mail!

I won some books from Penguin Teen during their Comic Con #penguincon tag challenge.  The books arrived and I was so surprised at what they sent!!  I can’t wait to read these!

Currently watching:

We are still watching Once Upon A Time (ABC), Gotham (Fox), Sleepy Hollow (Fox) & The Vampire Diaries (CW). But last week The Flash and Arrow had great premiere episodes!

The Flash (CW) first episode was really good and packed with a lot of information. The story is going really fast which is great!  And it was a nice surprise to see actor John Wesley Shipp star as Henry Allen, the father of Barry Allen (aka The Flash).  John played The Flash in the 1990 TV series!  I loved that show so it great seeing him again!

You are so lucky! I can’t wait for it to cool down here. Thanks for stopping by Michelle and have a great week!

My TBR is long too so it will be a while until I read Midnight Queen. Hopefully we will both like it. I just opened my instagram so I haven’t added a button yet on my blog. Thanks for stopping by!!

  1. You’re a little warmer than we are, we’ve been in the 50’s mostly although today is nice. We dipped into the 30’s the other night- yikes. The Halloween posts are neat and the bookish mood board is a great idea. Enjoy all the shows- I want to watch Once Upon a time having heard good things, but we’re a little behind on it… 🙂

Wow that is cold! But at least that gets you in the Fall mood! Once Upon a Time is good but I did miss a couple of seasons. So far I am able to figure out who is who lol. Thanks for stopping by Greg!

  2. We’ve had some really pleasantly cooler weather this week too – I think we even hit the 60s which was nice. I like fall weather – I just don’t like the cold of winter, so I hope we stay in this range for a while.

I just got to meet a bunch of authors this weekend, so I know how excited you must be to quiz the author about their book. Enjoy! Oh and I’m reading Stitching Snow now too! I just started, so I don’t know what I think quite yet. Are you enjoying it?

    Have a great week!

60s would be great! I’m not looking forward to the rain but I can’t wait to wear my boots and sweaters! Stitching Snow is ok so far and I don’t know yet if I like this either. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Your temperatures sound nice! I’m loving Sleepy Hollow so far this year but haven’t started the other shows you mention yet. Love your instagram pics. I really need to use my account more. Your view looks lovely! I was in Bath & Body Works the other day to pick up some wall flowers and the candles just about got me. So many amazing scents this year! Have a great week!
