Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead.So did his father before him, until he was gruesomely murdered by a ghost he sought to kill. Now, armed with his father’s mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. They follow legends and local lore, destroy the murderous dead, and keep pesky things like the future and friends at bay.Searching for a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas expects the usual: track, hunt, kill. What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he’s never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, now stained red and dripping with blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.Yet she spares Cas’s life.
A huge thank you goes to @SarahCrowley for suggesting Anna Dressed in Blood for a Book Look!! I heard about this book before so it was great that Sarah reminded me about this. As soon as I saw the cover I knew it would be perfect for my Halloween edition. The story sounds really good and is a perfect read for this season. I’ve added this to my TBR and I can’t wait to read this!!
The story is about a ghost named Anna, who was killed in 1958. She roams around in the dress she wore when she was killed and it is stained with blood. For this Book Looks I found a vintage 1950’s dress that I absolute love! Since the dress isn’t dripping with blood I found shoes that have red paint splatter to appear as blood. To complete the 50’s look is the pinup style makeup, headband, sunglasses and pearl jewelry. Since Anna has murdered some people I found the perfect ring that combines her innocence and “dark side” – it’s a rose, skull and cross bone, wrapped with pearls.
