Weekly Wrap Up 21

Posted September 21, 2014 by Kathy in Wrap-Up / 12 Comments

My Weekly Wrap Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Last week was same as usual – work and family.  I did have some time to read last week and I finished 2 books. I should write the reviews but I am so tempted to start another book. Does anyone else feel like this?  But I’m going to be good and write the reviews first!

Here is what happened last week on the blog:

This week on the blog:

  • The English Brothers Tour stop (review)
  • Cover Reveal – Starbright
  • Heart of Light Tour stop (promo)
  • Book Blog Walkers Check-in

Don’t miss out on these giveaways:

Reviews coming soon:

  • Heart of Light by TK Leigh
  • The Chieftain’s Curse by Frances Housden
  • What Were You Expecting?  by Katy Regnery
  • The Fine Art of Pretending by Rachel Harris

Reading this week:

Tempted.inddNickLeader of the half-breeds and the last true hero. He’s spent his life fighting a dark pull toward the gods. A pull he now knows is linked to his father Krónos and the Titan’s plan to escape from the Underworld.

But Nick’s hidden powers are coveted by more than just his father. Imprisoned by Hades, Nick battles every form of torture imaginable as the sadistic god schemes to break him. Only one thing is keeping him sane. One woman who gives him the strength to fight the relentless darkness. She has a dangerous plan of her own, though, and as Nick’s powers grow stronger, even she might not be enough to alter his destiny.

As the fate of the world hangs in the balance, Nick’s allegiances are tested. And no one knows whether he will choose to fight for good or succumb to the sinister lure of evil. Not even him.

I got mail!

I was really excited to learn that I was a winner for giveaway but I was so shocked when the prize arrived.  I knew I won a signed ARC of The Fine Art of Pretending by Rachel Harris but I was surprised that I also won an ARC of Black Ice by Becca Fitzpatrick and a ton of swag! To be honest I enter so many giveaways it is hard to keep track of the prize.  So I was jumping for joy when I opened the package!!

  1. I start new books without writing reviews of finished ones all the time. Then I let them pile up and don’t review all of them. I need to start trying to review before starting a new book. I’m looking forward to The Fine Art of Pretending but it will probably be awhile before I get to it.

I wasn’t able to get into Sleepy Hollow. I gave it a good try before I finally gave up.

I try to at least write some notes so I don’t forget too much about the story. Sometimes I just can’t wait to read the next book on my list lol. I better write these up before I get really behind. Thanks Jenna!!

  2. I’m bad about fiinishing a book and diving right into another. I also read several ata time. LOL It’s the reviews that are harder. But I’ve got anout 8 ready to go now.
While I don’t want the cooler waether, I do look forward to my shows returning in the fall. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Great to know I’m not the only one lol! The fall TV line-up sounds really good so I can’t wait for my favorite shows to come back. Thanks for stopping by Laura!

I forget sometimes too so now I write up some notes while I’m reading the book. Especially if there is something that I really love or hate, that way I know what direction I’m going for the rating. We watch a lot of TV so I’ll probably be behind on my reading lol. Thanks for stopping by Greg!

You are so good!! I try not to get too far behind on my reviews. I think the most has been 3 books. I loved the last Outlander episode and have to watch it again and again!! Sleepy Hollow is good but I agree the story got confusing. But then the finale put it all together so now I can’t wait to see what happens. Have a great week!!
