Weekly Wrap-Up 10

Posted June 29, 2014 by Kathy in Wrap-Up / 12 Comments

My Weekly Wrap-Up is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Friday was my daughter’s last day of school.  We are on a year round school schedule to deal with over crowding so she is finally on summer vacation! Yeah, no homework (until her first day of school on August 7th!).  Now I can have more time for reading and blogging.

Here is what happened last week on the blog:

I saw the COYER challenge on so many blogs, so I decided to participate.  I haven’t decided which books I’ll be reading this summer.  But I created an Excel spreadsheet with all the ARCs I have (which are primarily from Netgalley), so now I can see what should be read based on their publication dates.  The Facebook group is a lot of fun, so I hope you check it out!

For COYER I am currently reading Accidentally Married on Purpose by Rachel Harris and I’m loving it!

AccidentallyOne ring plus one wild night equals one crazy love

Sherry Robicheaux loves men. She loves love. And she loves an adventure. So when she meets a mysterious man while working backstage at a country music concert in Vegas, she’s all about what’s happened in Vegas staying there.

Country music superstar Tyler Blue just wants a weekend of anonymity…though there’s something about the spunky waitress with the streaks of purple hair that tempts him like no other. Until the next morning, when they both wake up with fuzzy memories…and rings on their fingers.

Convincing Sherry to maintain the ruse for his public image isn’t the hardest part—it’s reminding himself that their time spent playing husband and wife in her small town of Magnolia Springs can’t last. Tyler’s first love will always be music—and the road is no place for a sweet downhome girl.

  1. I really liked that trailer post for the new hickman books- looks very mysterious! Lost memories, a secret society- what’s not to like? 🙂 Glad to see you joining COYER too- think it’s going to be a lot of fun this summer! Have a great week.

I’m not looking forward to that time! It is much easier at this age, she can entertain herself and stays home lol. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Katherine! Good luck on COYER! I agree the short summer is better for my daughter – she doesn’t get too bored and it’s easier to get back to her school routine. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. That seems like a short summer but it should be long enough for her to relax and have fun while retaining most of what she learned.

Have fun with COYER. I always enjoy it.

Hi Bea! Yes, this year my daughter has a short summer. Since they are year round it works out to having a month off every 3 months. It’s nice having the breaks through out the year. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Peggy! I loved the book and my review will be up soon. This is our last year with this school schedule (once she is in junior high school she will be on traditional US school calendar). So I am looking forward to having both my daughters on the same school calendar. Thanks for stopping by!!
