COYER Summer Reading Challenge

COYER (Clean Out Your E-Reader) Summer Vacation is here! COYER is hosted by Michelle at Because Reading Is Better Than Real Life and Berls at Fantasy Is More Fun. COYER runs from June 21st – September 5th- all summer long! This is my first time doing this challenge and they have made a change to last year – any kind of books can be read, not just e- books. There will be Twitter parties and Facebook chats, so this is going to be a lot of fun!

What I love about this challenge is that there is a different theme each week.  I’m not sure which books I will read but I like the variety they have planned.  I do want to alternate books from my Netgalley ARCs and my own library. And also my goal this summer is to finally start one of the YA series that everyone is talking about, either Cinder, Shadow and Bone, or Throne of Glass…I have so many first books of series that I want to read!

Here is the schedule for COYER:

July 4th – 6th: Fun in the Sun!
Read books with the beach or ocean/lake/etc on the cover to get into a summer vacation mood!

July 11th – 13th: Fairy Tales with a Twist
Read fairy tale re-tellings and give those childhood favorites a twist!

July 25th – 27th: Christmas in July!
Read Holiday themed books.

August 1st – 3rd: New To Me!
Read/listen to books by authors and/or narrators you’ve NEVER read/listened to before.

August 8th – 10th: Scary Stories by the Campfire!
Read about ghosts, goblins, and any other horror/thriller that would make for a scary campfire tale!

August 15th -17th: Short and Sweet!
Fill your weekend not with Novels but with Novellas!

August 29th – September 1st: End of Summer!
Read books with a fall theme to usher in the new season!

Doesn’t this sound like fun??!!  I’ll be doing updates on my progress in my Weekly Wrap-up.

Hi Jenna! I’m planning my reading schedule now so I can fit in the Throne of Glass. The reread sounds fun but I would also be concerned about the spoilers. I hope we both get to read it and enjoy it. Everyone has been talking about this series so I’m really curious about it. Thanks for stopping by and good luck on the challenge!

  1. I have a ton of series books that I would love to get through as well. I need to figure out a better way to keep track of all the series books that I read as it is 🙂 Good luck with this challenge! I hope you get lots of good books read!
