Overview from Barnes & Noble

Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something… unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don’t kill him first, that is.

My Review:

I have to be honest that I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this book!  Katy and her mom move from Florida to West Virginia to start a new life.  Ever since her father past away Katy’s mom has been dealing with her grief by working 2 jobs, leaving Katy alone at home with responsibilities that most teenagers don’t have (cleaning, cooking, doing the grocery shopping, etc.).  So right away I thought of Bella from Twilight and her flaky mom, and it made me cringe thinking I was going to be reading another book with an annoying teenage girl.  But I was WRONG!!  Katy is smart and independent, and also a book blogger!!  I loved that she had a Waiting on Wednesday meme and changes her blog design (so much like me lol).  But the moment that Katy meets her sexy neighbor, Daemon, she acts as any normal girl would – becomes speechless and makes a fool of herself.  But as soon as Daemon opens his sarcastic mouth Katy snaps out of it and does exactly the opposite of his many adoring fans and tells him off!!  The author did an amazing job with the chemistry between Daemon and Katy, she had me swooning over Daemon one moment but then wanting to flip him off (which my girl, Katy did!!).

I’m not going to put any spoilers, but the story had everything to keep me entertained (action, romance, comedy).  It was a perfect combination!  And again the chemistry between Daemon and Katy – let me just say sparks fly (literally)!!
I loved this book and I highly recommend this!
